So happy to report that the car passed it's MOT the other day with a minor advisory against brake hoses. Small jobs need to be tackled like new mats, cupholders which I'll tackle over the next few weeks. I spoke to a friend who owns a motor parts company. He sorted me out with new brake hoses to sort the advisory item. Look excellent quality and he tells me they are manufactured better than Goodridge hoses!0cf940cdb806e10c37adec1bb7bd2698.jpg51d7902b78bfd7372b8ffb32e14120f5.jpg65b635b05247a1ec96c571baf1fdd26f.jpg

After the kids had scratched the tints in the rear I had them redone today. Great advice and service and great value for money. Lifetime warranty to boot!

Car has also been in for some paint recently as someone in a car park opened in to me a few weeks back. Left a number and gave me cash to get it sorted after a few quotes. Restored my faith in people! Took the opportunity to get the wing mirrors redone after my attempts failed and the front wing which had a few marks since I bought the car

Mechanic gave the car back to me and said every single nut and bolt needed heat so only managed to get through the front of the car. Needs to go back next week to have the rear done. Feels like a magic carpet already so cannot wait to get it finished. With good fortune comes bad and saw the rear had a flat tyre which turned out to be a massive screw in the shoulder. It could not be repaired so got a cheap part worn on just so I could use the car today and will order two new rears. Gutted as there is about 4.5mm left of the rears but may as well replace with new.

This is going to end up being one of the nicest SEs on the forum.

Really well looked after.

The pro kit will make a noticeable difference and the drop is going to look perfect.

a few people have mentioned that the pro kit springs might be too short for the se shocks any truth in this ?

I'll put pictures up when finished as only the fronts have been done so far but they are perfect in every respect - the ride is night and day from the 130k old shocks and springs they replaced. Has put all thoughts of a new car firmly out of my head for a few years at least!

So here it is lowered with new shocks and a few new arms at the front. Need to get alignment done but it's been money very well spent and has given the car a new lease of life.

Had to take it for a full alignment today after all the recent work. The local Merityre was recommended and they had a pretty impressive Hunter setup. All adjustments done for £60 which is pretty good value, even watched them doing it from the waiting room!

The car had to go back to the mechanic as it had a rattling/knocking from the back, has been like that since the new shocks and springs went on and he pointed it out. After getting the var back this evening he said he has had it all apart and it looks like the rear shocks are the only thing he can pinpoint. A little annoyed as these were the Monroe ones from Latvia! He is going to order some Sachs I hope for a good price and see if that is it...if not hopefully he will know where to go next.
