hi all can someone help please,A couple of weeks ago i had a new engine fitted to my 1998 528 and when i got it back all seemed ok apart from traction control not working and the light on all the time, anyway drove it for about 5 days and seemed ok then after about 10 mins of driving the other day the throttle hesitates quite bad and doesn't pick speed up properly and when i let the pedal up it seems to brake/pull back. I had a bmw specialist come and plug his computer in and it came up with throttle valve potentiometer b- anyway got a new one fitted it and still the same, has anyone got an idea of what is wrong

cheers arron

Try unplugging the airflow meter and restart the car and go for a drive, if it is much better its a cert the afm needs replacing.

This is how my 540 felt when the afm went, and interestingly there was no code for the afm but the throtte switch came up.

I got my afm from a Bosch dealer in Wolverhampton and was less than half of BMW, can dig out the contact details if you need them or check out my other threads it in one of them..
