I thought this would be simple...

Got the Sensors, trims, looms, black-box and sounder unit,

There are 5 wires on the loom that connects to the car.
Two blue wires (red trace on one, white on the other). = Sounder unit.
Brown (black trace) = Earth.

Easy!  :)

Then there's the  green wire (white trace) and white wire (Black trace).

When I checked on the donor car, both show 12 volts with the ign. on, regardless of whether reverse is selected or not.

The system works fine when it is plugged back into the donor car...

What's going on?! :?

The PDF files are for 1998 & later cars...

Mine is a 1997.

However, it looks like the installation is identical, save for the wiring colours.

One wire goes to switched 12v supply, the other to the I-bus.  Problem is, which wire.....?

Cheers!  I've been looking at WDS, doesn't help that the colour codes for the wires are in German!
The I-bus wire is either: WS GR GE or WS RT GE.

From that, I'd guess the white/black-trace wire is power, green/white-trace goes to the I-bus.

Suspect this'll need coding..

Plus, is there anything on the I-Bus I can take a feed from in the boot/load area?  (Touring, donor & recipient).

Checking the retrofit instructions from EBA. Green/white wire should be voltage from fuse 21. Didn't find that white/black wire on them. I/K-bus should always be white wire with red/yellow or gray/yellow stripe. Different stripe colour depending if it's I- or K-bus (high or low OBC). Check the pin numbers they are on the connector. That should define things. You can connect the bus wire in parallel to any place you find it. From WDS you can find the connector locations for I/K-bus.

My recent late night car jobs haven't gone too well,  see:  Ooops..  but I thought I 'd connect anything up & see what happened...

I wasn't to hopeful...

It works!! :)

I found an IBUS cable within the battery compartment, but weirdly, I couldn't find an ignition switched live...  So I used a switched live that comes on with the stereo system.

Plugged it all in and it works 100%!  No coding or messing around & I now have rear reverse sensors.

So:  Does anyone know the wiring colour codes for an ignition switched-live in (or near) the rear battery compartment in a Touring?
