I'm a newbie to the site, so i hope it's ok for me to post in here, but i thought this would be usefull to ALL BMW owners...

First, disable popup blockers (i know this looks bad, a newbie asking you to disable popups, i promise there won't be anything you won't like). Then, right click this link... https://www.parts.bmwgroup.com/ , and open in either a new tab or new window. It will probably pop up another window asking you to login in. For a username type in eu111111 and for a password, type in bmwetk1 .

It may open another window, but if not, click the link on the left of the page that says service/technic and again, it might open a new window. On the next page (or new window) look for webepc, with a pic of either a suspension strut or a brake disc next to it, and click start.

A new window will almost definately pop up now, and this is where the fun begins. This is very much like realoem, only it's BMW's own site. Put in the last 7 digits of your vin in the box near the top, and click the >> button. At the top of the new page, you'll see some links in the greyed section. Click options, and a new window will open with the options list for your car as it came out of the factory :D

I haven't seen this posted anywhere else on this site yet, so hopefully it's not a repost, but, enjoy :)

Hi,

Any chance of volume 2 for the above please?

Volume 2 contains section 6 which covers electrical stuff.

Cheers,

Gavin :)

Found this a while ago.

http://www.cooper-bmw-parts.co.uk/

Coopers have their parts prices online, saves you bothering kev and tony!

And you'll see that kev and tony will still supply it cheaper delivered to your door!

Handy to get quotes though if you know the part numbers.

Not sure if the older stuff (E28 etc) is on there mind.

Probably needs to be viewed on a computer or view the desktop site on a smart phone rather than the mobile version.

BMW E39 540i oil filter mount removal. I saw that its a pain to remove old mounts as they tear off so easily. I made a tutorial on how to remove the base plate of the rubber mount.

Also please do share this if you want to.

Many Thanks,

amand

Thread bump, in case anyone's looking for E39 weld-in sill sections this place does them in Bolton.

http://www.autocrashparts.co.uk/

They're able to order items.  Non-genuine but the fit is good and are only about £25 a side!  I also believe they're galvanised.   Myself and another member have used them with success on our M5s
