Finished putting the thread all back together now, took a while !  But it was good to be reminded of all I have been through with the car and all the work I have done !!!

Here are some previously unseen shots from before I owned it circa 2005 and some comparison shots with how it is now.  You can decide if it's better or worse :)

Are you doing many miles in it, Mark?

I use it whenever I get the chance, it goes to quite a few shows, meets and to work when the weather is nice.  Mileage is limited to 3k on the policy and of course I have the M3 as well so it may be used a little less Dan.

Happy new year everyone !

So I managed to get a little time to do a couple of jobs this week.  Finally fitted the M5 rev counter that I got from Dan about 3 years ago, so no more depressing fuel consumption in 2018 :)

Also, having retreived my original bootlid from my parents' garage, I re-fitted the boot light finally that the painters never managed to do...  It's a fiddly job getting it fed through the bootlid !

I also fitted a new coolant sensor and tested the gauge etc with a little fire up, I liked the gunsmoke from the tailpipes after it was stopped :)

Next up I will fix the PAS leak that seems to have developed !

I can pretend I have that E28 M5 I am never going to be able to afford now too !

Happy New Year Mark.

Car is looking sweet.

There is a photograph of the E28 line up at Fort Nelson on the back cover of this years "myE28.com" 2018 calendar.

Check out the E28 section post "E28 2018 Calendar"

Regards,

Mick

Well the PAS leak seems to be coming from the pump so I have bought a new seal kit and will attack that shortly.  I have cleaned up the whole area as part of the MOT prep so I can see where any fresh leaks may be.  I also replaced all the washer pipework and blew out all the fitting etc with my airline, they are now working better than they ever had, the old pipework was a bit manky as you can see in the engine bay pic below.

Here she is at the MOT place and some quick pics for insurance valuation !  It passed by the way ;)

Time to enjoy some of the upcoming meets and shows :)

Yes I am Dunc, I took it to a local ford gathering at the weekend and it ended up with a large crowd around it and they genuinely loved it...I am also really glad I bought this to keep it company too 20180504_121103.jpg20180504_121247.jpg:)

Yup both great cars. Loved both of mine. E36 was a genuine usable day to day family car. I fear mine would have needed a few quid of body work before long but in hindsight the current values would have justified it. Hey ho.

I think this is my favourite car on this forum. Not just for the looks, but the genuine quality and attention to the tiniest detail.

I know what you mean, it's quick, useable, reasonably economical and fairly roomy.  I like it more each time I take it out :)

I reckon it's similar in size to the e28. Certainly we got as

much stuff in an e36 as we did in the e46 touring for trips to France.

I saw mid 30s on a run and it went well too.

Getting nostalgic now!
