Anyone can tell me what type of bird this is as it used to rest on the same tree in our garden for a few years on the trot!

Doesn't seem to be on my complete list of birds.

Was thinking bomb bay as well but doesn't seem to be very much room in there.

Having been in one; it's hell of a lot bigger than you think ;)

Not quite the size of the B52 bomb bays though

XH558, aka G-VLCN?

I should have known better really. I was involved with the aircraft's initial airworthiness certification when she entered the civil register back in 05/06 ish? Can't quite remember.

I still proudly wear the fleece!

Before my time; I'm a 1979'er

I've seen them both at air shows and saw the last UK flight of the SR71 Blackbird too ;)

It was going full pelt (so they say) and took from Anglesey to Paris to slow down enough to turn around and come back for the fast fly over 8)

Biggest plane I saw at an airshow was the Lockheed C5 Galaxy; bloody 'ell, that thing cast a shadow

I think it's my lens on 16mm that makes it look smaller.

July 2017 - on an 'island' just off the B500 in the middle of the River Rhine.

It's a very wide part of the River where there are massive locks which accommodate large vessels like container ships etc. The B500 crosses the Rhine here and this is at one of three locations you can exit as you cross. I missed the turning last year on the way to Bavaria, so was determined not to miss it on the way to Stuttgart this year!
