I see there are a few aviation pictures here. Very nice! Any pilots or engineers here too?

This is a picture just taken after the war....

Only joking, it's the backyard of the company I work for, taken a month ago.

reminds me of what happened to a mini across the road afew years back. it was parked on the road next to a verge with an overhanging willow tree. one night, this tree gave up the ghost in high winds and fell on to this mini looking like an enourmous willow garage with the tailgate just poking out, as i discovered on my way to school the following morning. unfortunately, by the time i returned from school the mini had been moved and the tree pruned by the council, so i never got a photograph. the mini survived unscathed.

Anyway, who remembers the heavy snow this time last year? i have a couple of pics of my street and my back garden looking like a spectacular icelandic winter scene below. And one of dads triumph which was being parked out on the road before we hired a lock-up for it.

Nice! I have been an engineer for the KLM for some time, but not anymore. Now I fly the BAE ATP. I am thinking of a aviation/bmw meet now. Say Duxford or something alike.

For my 40th last year my wife bought me a 4 day tour/trip of Normandy. I spent loads of time taking in my surroundings and trying to imagine what exactly happened in the areas I visited.

The picture below forms part of the emplacements at Pointe Du Hoc just east of Vierville Normandy..

pointduhoc4kp7.jpg

Quite by chance when I got home I came across this picture on the net taken at near enough the same spot 63 years earlier.. showing American Rangers and Axis POW..
