Hi knowledgeable lot (and dan :P )

say hypothetically you had £5k to invest, what would you invest in and why?

Can be long term or short term or in something that might give you a monthly or annually return.

Answers on a post card please ;)

+1 for offset mortgage.

Cleared down my 25 year term in 17 years and saved a boat load of interest by linking savings against principle interest.

Regards,

Mick

I’ve personally got zero debt.

Was asking as a kind of feeler as there’s quite a broad spectrum of people on here that might be in a position to invest into something (physical or not)

dan I get where your coming from as with a small investment, the return on it is minimal.

But what about crypto? I know that’s more of a gamble but the returns are higher.

stocks? What business sector is on the up and maybe worth investing?

Metals? I heard silver was worth investing in, all be it a low return on any size of investment.

Oil?

New gen power?

new technologies?

Old classic car? Or has that time come and gone?

Rolex watches.

Mine is worth at least twice what I paid for it back in 2003.

100% absolutely.

Providing it's the right ones.

I sold a reasonably good condition 2002 16600 Seadweller less than 3 years ago for £3400, it was a complete full set with box, papers, tool kit, the lot.  they're now selling at £5500-6000.

At the same time, my friend offered me his pristine boxed 1680 plexiglass at £4500. They're now £10k
