BMW E60 530D 2006 180000 oil change???

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have been trolling the internet about oils for cars with higher miles. I change my oil every 6 months as my thinking is look after my engine and it will serve me well.  Engine will shortly reach 180,000 there is no rattles, It is slightly noisier than an 80,000 engine my mate as got. but what is peoples thoughts on slightly thicker oils in higher mileage engines. 5w30 used.

I have seen good reviews on triple qx 5w30 low saps.

The only oil I would not use it diffo makes the engine sound noisier is castrol regardless of what people say.

Just seen a video on bearing test with triple qx so thats a no no

why change what you know is fine for the car? If its not burning any and still runs well keep it as it.

This. I have a 530i and it's been running on Liqui Moly 5W30C3 for the last two changes and despite me getting Shell and Castrol 5w40 LL04 dirt cheap, It'll be getting Liqui Moly again for its 7k change.

Only way to know is to try it in your particular engine. I use 5w-40 in mine and have done for the last couple of years.
