535D DPF warning

Recommended Posts

Hi

! have recently purchased my first BMW, a 2008 535D Touring 100k miles.

A fault has come up in the centre console display about a DPF blockage. I have googled this and consequently drove at a minimum of 2k rpm for fifteen minutes, by keeping it in manual.

The fault is still there, it appears after about ten minutes driving - any advice very gratefully received.

Nick

You need diagnostics to see what other faults it has, also bad thermostats will stop it getting hot enough to start a regen.

As GoNz0 wrote above, you need to see what other fault codes you have and to make sure you engine temp is running 75c or above for it to regen.

1. Any logged error codes related to the DPF will prevent the car from doing regens.

2. Engine temps need to be 75c or above
