Bmw 520d e61 2008 fuel pump problem

Recommended Posts

Hi all I’m new here so please bear with me lol

I’ve got a Bmw 520d e61 2008 lci was driving and a message came up on Idrive saying something about fuel pump then car cut out tried to restart but would cut out straight away now want start at all after I changed fuel filter and had a look at pump in the tank but is the pump in the tank meant to pump when the ignition is turn on? I.e without starting the car? As mine isn’t,when I changed fuel filter I put  ignition on while filter was off and no fuel came out of the pipe I’ve plugged laptop with ista+ and it’s saying fuel rail pressure too low any help would be really appreciated

Are the  sensors meant to be coded when replaced? Using ista+ I’ve tried to reset  fuel rail  pressure valve and it keeps saying reset  failed I’ve been at this for a few week now and I’m not getting anywhere I’m really  frustrated
