BMW E65 airbag light - cannot reset and keep it cleared

Recommended Posts

I've got an airbag light on, it's for the passenger side mat sensor

Replaced the sensor, reset the light, comes back on as soon as you start the car

Used one of those occupancy sensor bypass things via ebay, reset light, comes back on as soon as the cars started..

Says its the 'sattalite b pillar occupancy sensor' or something to those words...

I'm using Carly to do this etc.

Could it be that it's been on for a while now that it needs to be sorted by BMW themselves?

Faulty or incorrect bypass sensor?

I wonder if there is another occupancy sensor because it looks like it’s the side curtain airbags giving the fault not the dash one. Do they only fire when the passenger seat is occupied or are the always going to go off I wonder????

just seems odd it’s specifically saying b piller airbag.

No idea; will look into it further when I've got the car back on Friday

Just going back to this; this is what Carly gives as the error:

Satellite B-pillar right / B-Saeule rechtsFault Code: 0098D5Fault Explanation: :Resistance squib ZK 2 too big

I've no idea what this means and Googling it brings up not a lot as well; anyone any ideas?!
