How would you describe the sound mate? Bass focused? Set up for clarity etc? What kind of music do you normally listen to?

Well it is not bass focused. The bass is set high but then dialled down with the equaliser to ensure that there is no distortion. It’s still gives a good punch if listening to bass full music.

the treble is set high and ensures clarity but there is no humming on really high stuff.

I listen to all sort of music, from rock, to r’n’b to hip hop to electronic so this set up suits me best for all tbh.

Give those settings a go and let me know. Music is completely subjective so you might actually hate it haha

It certainly is subjective and I’ve startrd to adjust mine dependant on the music being listened to or if I’m being boring and tuned into Radio 4 and listening to the news.

It it is a shame we can’t pre program these to a number of settings and select from one button, as it is fiddly especially when on the move. :o

H&K Sound is superb though......:P

Has anybody else who has the ‘display key’ had any issues.

Mine me has lost the ability to enable touch opening and closing but only intermittently - after a lengthy discussion with the dealer they’ve agreed to order a replacement but wondered if this was more than just an isolated incident?

Anybody had any experience with wrapping the front end of their car to protect from stone chips?

I’m having to work hard to maintain this level of performance and the reality is, it isn’t why I opted for a 540i

The rare occasions (and I mean rare at this stage) when I’ve switched to Sports Plus and pushed the gear change to the left the MPG drops like a stone. Best journey so far (mainly A1 and M62) I returned 41.8 MPG for the 150 miles but in Eco, the return journey (I was in a hurry ) 22.44 MPG and 55 minutes less travel time!

Love it!

Can I get one for the E91? I’ve owned it for almost 5 years now!

Or is it just an option on the G series?

@sjak92 Me thinks you have too much time on you hands - but love it all the same - I see you have the white version (specifically for your car) can you knock me one up in Bluestone please.....

@Yokozuna Providing when you got your E91 it was the 'refund edition' you'll be fine, you may find that after 5 years that you have to do a bit of detailing to reveal the 'refund edition' just below the X Trail badge on your boot........

Car got a bit of a clean on Saturday evening when it had cooled slightly. IMG_0018.thumb.JPG.c2e31955b3b448d8f103ff7dce5f9d96.JPG

It has now done 6.5k miles and returning 30.9MPG since new, which for a 540i isn't bad I guess.

Couple of stone chips on the bonnet (the BMW Dealer has suggested he'll do these FOC for me !!) but many marks and chips on the air dam around and below the reg plate and fog lights. :o

Bit of jeans blue dye transfer on the driver seat but it comes of easily enough with a wipe.

All in all 3 months in, really pleased with it.......

Does that include fitting or is it an easy DIY job?

Flat head screwdriver allows to remove the grill in less than 60 seconds. No joke, it’s a doddle
