Good point lol! The main one is that this morning woke up and the rear passengers side suspension is basically on the wheel? Only just noticed it but other 3 corners are fine, no error message on the idrive for it either? Alot of different info about this online?

Other 2 things are a right pain...opened the sunroof cover few months ago (yes there was some sun lol) and all I heard was a crack as when opening the cover for the roof got caught and basically broke the wole mechanism! BMW said a few grand to look, fix, repair :-(

And last but not least the parking brake has broke and I receive the error on the i drive and been using the 'p' on the gear stick for a while now as heard this could be pricey too...looking to get rid soon too as getting a company car so need someone reliable to take a look..BMW wll pull my pants, boxers and socks down! :-)

Rear suspension sagging - airbag leaking (only have these on the rear). For replacement the parts are available online and a local indi will replace it in about 30 minutes.

Sunroof - common issue. Look on the forums as there is an independent specialist who will rebuild whatever broke for much less than a full replacement.

Electronic parking brake on the F07 is different from that on the F10/F11 and a think it uses a cable and motor set up and again a common fault end easily repaired.

Sorry I have no idea of a specialist local to you.

Hi Matthew, the side that is sagging is making a hssing noise, is that the airbag issue you think?

And didn't realise the sunroof would be a common isue, thought it was just my bad luck! Thanks I'll take a look...

Just need to find someone reliable local if anyone still knows anyone but any more info is valuable thanks..was quoted a few £k from bmw last time I got it serviced! :-(

Hi Anil, the hissing is definitely the escaping air that the compressor is generating.

Here is a post re-sunroof issues and someone others have recommended for a fix. http://forum.bmw5.co.uk/topic/126140-f07-pano-sunroof-sunscreen-failure/?tab=comments#comment-1355780

Thanks Matthew, been told about a ex godfrey hall techie called neil who is upposed to be good, said he would rather use BMW parts for the suspesntion issue as had problems with non oem parts before but lets see!

Also company in birmingham said around £800 for the roof issue - https://www.thehoodguys.co.uk/

Anyone used these before

Hmm, many people have used either Aerosus or Arnott's airbags and none have come back giving anything but the highest praise for the fit and the quality. These are such simple components that paying at least double for the BMW part seems ridiculous.

Hi Anil

If you look back a page, I posted about this exact air spring problem about 3 weeks ago. The same unit is used on both sides of the car, but there are 2 part numbers, dependent on your car's spec. If you don't have Integral Active Steering there are plenty of aftermarket options, but if you do, then head to the dealer.

I used a unit from fleabay, cost c£42 time to do was less than ½hr for a novice like me and the part was of similar quality of the OEM one I removed.

For a part you could potentially be replacing every couple of years (I don't clean them like Matthew does) and only has a one year warranty I see no issue with pattern parts.

Loads for sale

I asked the mechanic about the ones from ebay but he says I may get errors when changing or after? Whats the price of the BMW ones brand new does anyone know?

Asked him to check the auto handbreak issue too...sounds pricey!

I'd get a different mechanic.

I second that. He is obviously clueless about the airbag suspension and how it fits together. How would an aftermarket airbag causes errors? It isn't an electronic part, just a rubber bellows and a couple of plastic cones with clamps.

If your car is a standard one without VDC or Active Steering the BMW sourced airbags are £372 each at list. £259 for 2 at Aerosus or go the @sshooie route and just buy the cheaper ones from eBay. They all do the same thing one may last slightly longer than the other.

If it is the parking brake actuator module then you are looking at £800 for a replacement. I'd go looking at a breaker's yard if that does need replacing. But before all that, have you checked the fuses that control power to the module?

Having had Arnotts before, I would have gone with those, but they specifically excluded their single version for my car. The last ones I had for my X5 were of significantly better quality than BMW.

So will the ebay ones be ok if I try and get the mechanic to get some and fit them? Looking to sell the car soon so don;t want to pay over the odds and have a few issues to fix on it before it goes on sale..
