My new favourite BMW saloon

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I still have good memories of wafting around in New York City on numerous occasions in 1997/8/9 in a black 740i as a relative had one! Even more fantastic and class looking with some complementary and balanced modifications. I'd love to have an E38 :)

Cheers, Dennis!

There used to an Alpina B12 5.7 lwb in Aberdeen, one of only two rhd UK cars.

Edit; I've just checked, and it's still on my drive :D

Ok

I have a 2011 525d SE, a magazine featured 1994 E34 520i, a nice wife and a few reasonable children - trade?!!!

The perfect driveway! Shame it would not only cost the same as my house to assemble but also take longer than it takes some brickies to put the house up!

E38 prices are rising as well.

Every e38 I've had I've sold for less than £1500. You'd be hard pushed to find a nice one for less than that now.

Great cars though. Regret moving then on

I had one of these and if it weren’t for a change of job in 2012, I’d still have it. Superb cars, and the itch still remains

I gotta say though, a standard E38 on 16s with the black sills and black bumpers looks very dated and dull now.

The appearance of the car really responds to 18s or 19s and a drop in ride height.

Fully agree

The 728i I had, had fully painted sills and on 18" Style 32s. It wasn't a sport, but looked ace (IMO) once I'd lowered it on BC coilovers ;)

TBH wish I'd never sold it; the guy who bought it off me wrote it off 6 weeks later after an argument with a 44 ton articulated
