Finally, after 6 months wait my new 530e has been delivered! - But there's a problem!

Any ideas?

How annoying. Have you tried pre-conditioning the car? might be due to temp. of the battery.

Nice to see another SE model rather than all these m-sport models with their shouty bodykits and pimped out windows!

It's 8.5c here so hardly cold.

I took it for an 8 mile drive, with no change...Worrying!

I spoke to the genius and apparently, it can take up to 24hrs to initialise?????

I recently had that message.

I think it was on a cold day.

It went away after some driving though.

After 65 miles and 24hrs, I still have the same issue.

It is now booked into the dealers for 27/12/17.

That's a shame.

Let us know what they find.

Ok, very strange update for you. On Friday, three days and 200 odd miles after delivery, the car suddenly remembered it was a hybrid and started working properly!

No explanation for it, no reason.

Mine did this today...I’m putting it down to subzero temp as 2 miles into the journey Max eDrive was available again.

did you take it in to be looked at? What was the explanation?

There are many people reporting the same as you in cold weather, it seems that this is 'normal' for the car and in the cold you really need to pre condition in the cold to avoid it.

However, mine was doing it when the outside temp was at 10'C and had NEVER been able to run on the battery since delivery. After 200 odd miles though, it corrected itself and started behaving as it should.

I didn't end up taking it in as it started behaving.
