Finding VIN numbers online

Recommended Posts

I used to use the BMW warranty site to provide a VIN number of a BMW from just its registration number but the site now doesn't give the vin out anymore.

Mate is looking at buying a used bmw and wants to know what options are in it via VIN decoder sites but I can't get the vin for him from the registration number anymore.

Anyone have a link?

QED https://www.bmw-warranty.co.uk/Login/Index

The problem here and across the myriad of other forums asking the same question is as soon as any link is posted the usage flies up and it gets modified to remove the functionality so everyone loses.

Anyone posting such links is a prat to put it bluntly!

Yes there are sites out there,

5 minutes of googling found one yesterday and that is the emphasis here,  people need to make the effort and go and find them themselves.

Many of the spoon fed community will not bother which is a good thing because the benefit to those of us that make the effort is the site remains available a little bit longer.

Your mate needs to make a bit of effort and look, and if he does not have the skill set to use a search engine then what is wrong with spending a quid or two getting an HPI check done on a potential vehicle which will also provide the Vin or even asking the seller for it?

I appreciate this sounds selfish but that is a reality of cyberlife today.

You beat me to it

That's the one I found, but apparently that makes you

:D

Makes a change from being called a twunt :D

I think if you edit the title to something a little less obvious then google may not throw this to the top of the list, otherwise I am happy to take it down as it is like gold dust finding these sites now.

I just googled and found out a good site. You can try it: https://www.bmwvin.com/

You need the VIN to use that site.  That's the site that tells you whats in the car in terms of spec and options after you have obtained the VIN.
