Cleaning pale leather

Recommended Posts

Whats the best way to get the grime and dirt from pale leather before conditioning.

Ive read something about steam cleaners, microfibre cloths and APC but what are the tips to make it easy?

It's generally frowned upon but I gave my very dirty cream leather a light wipe over with some bleach diluted in warm water with excellent results.

I tried everything to clean them before that with no success so decided to give it a go making sure the microfibre was well wrung out so as not to soak the leather in bleach. Cleaned it with clean water afterwards, conditioned it and it has been fine since.

The Gliptone didn't work then?  Heard good stuff about that and was just about to buy some.

Steam cleaners can be used carefully to clean stubborn stuff but you need to make sure you feed the leather afterwards with some conditioner to protect it again.   I've seen a few youtube videos on steam cleaning leather with great results.

My pale grey leather needs a good clean.
