BMW M5 E39 18" Original Wheels BMW Part No: 2228950, 2228960

Recommended Posts

Hi, I’m selling a set of genuine m5 style 65 wheels. Wider rears and refurbished in shadow chrome .

There are are a few slight marks on the tears but nothing overly noticeable. Wheels are in very good condition overall and look stunning.

£750 collection from Banbury Oxfordshire, or delivery could be arranged.

Just a small note, due to the wheels being refurbished unfortunately the part numbers on the inside are now unreadable, but these are still very much the same wheels I purchased a year ago and the part numbers are as follows.

Part No: 2228950, 2228960.

Thanks.

Are these 100% genuine wheels, the only reason I ask is I can see from one of your posts that some may be aftermarket.

I had a set of wheels on my car when I bought it that were replica rears and genuine fronts. I had the opportunity to buy a genuine set to replace them with which is this set.

Ive since sold sold my car and want to sell the genuine set to recoup some of the money I spent. These are are genuine set. The replicas I had didn’t have the indent  for the M badge below the center cap.

Sorry for any confusion.

Dan

Hi dan thanks for clearing that up as you can see from your post before it looked like the rears where non genuine as you were offering then to someone else as non gen rears, don’t suppose you come anywhere near Southampton way do you?

Don’t think you read the thread properly as it was not the op asking for a set of rears the op was offering his set to the op in this thread.

That's a ridiculously good price for a decent set of Style 65 wheels!

I've got a full spare set of the same wheels (which are not for sale!) refurbed by Lepsons for £400.

OK they've got the odd very tiny mark - which I'd bet you'd struggle to see without careful examination - but £600 is a stunning bargain.

(Maybe not the best time of year to be selling with Xmas very much in sight now?)

No problem I can see the confusion! I was going to just sell the rep set, hence that original post. But I decided that it was time to part with the 540 and after spending so much on the car I wanted to get as much money back as I could.

And no I don’t get anywhere near to Southampton I’m afraid!

Thanks, I know it’s not the best time to be selling them but they take up a fair amount of space and I could do with freeing up some cash what with a trip to Canada looming :D

The wheels are certainly cheap at £600 it took me ages to find a genuine set in the first place. I paid £850 and then had them refurbished as there were a few small marks that niggled me. I have dropped the price for the same reason, the wheels have some small marks on them I can only assume from when the tyres were removed (wish I’d had a closer look at them afterwards). So I figure whoever buys them will probably want them sorted.

Hi, are these still for sale?

Will also send you a PM.

A few questions if you don't mind.

Did the company that did the refurb offer any explanation for the for the numbers being removed?

It take it that has happened with the use of blasting of some sort, or are they just clogged with paint/coating?

Has anyone else experienced numbers fading or being unreadable after refurbishment?

Been looking for some time to replace mine, which are somewhat corroded. Took them to the local Wheel Specialist place some time back, they claimed they could fix them, came back a complete mess.

These arrived today, delighted with them, and very well packaged.

Thanks for getting them sent so quickly and taking the time to package them well Dan, very much appreciated.
