Sport exhaust to replace se, to chop or not to chop??

3 posts in this topic

Morning all,

As part of my upgrade to 'Sport' spec on my 530i se I've bought a used sport exhaust, in very good condition, for £75.

As you probably know the exhaust is complete one piece from the manifold to the tail pipe. As far as I can tell the only difference is the back box.

So the question is would you cut off the se back box and back box from the sport and simply clamp the sport box to the original exhaust or replace the whole exhaust?

Can't see it making any difference as long as I use a good clamp/sleeve and it would save a lot of work!!

Thanks

Sleeve it.

I'm not a fan of the single

Peco big bore single pipe look.

You could buy left side M5 backbox for the perfect look
