It's  an old college motor, Which was donated to the college by their local BMW dealer in the 1990's

Their local BMW dealer was obviously a generous bunch! Wish my local dealer would donate me a low mileage E32 750i V12!!!

There's something about that tells me it's either had an extremely hard life over 3k miles, or it's bullshit

It looks like it's done 130k miles! The interior is very worn/dirty and the exterior is shot at by the looks of it!

I personally would have said that the 3k miles is probably genuine but just had a very hard life being abused by college students/ apprentices etc. I have no idea why the price has been bumped up 4k from the start of the tread a year ago, what's even more laughable is this time round the seller can't even be bothered to clean it!!!!! Yet another dickhead car dealer taking the piss and imho its not worth half the asking price. Don't forget students would have taken EVERYTHING little nut and bolt off and who knows how well it went back together again.......

The mileage is genuine, I remember when it first popped up, I spoke to the guy who bought it off the college.  I'm with Boiliebasher on this one, you would have to strip and reassemble that one to make sure everything had been done up properly and torqued correctly.  I think it first sold for £3K so the £11K just represents the various sellers over the last couple of years marking it up.  Ironic if one dealer is buying it off another dealer to sell on, adding on their markup as it goes.

No number plate to check the MOT history, the exterior looks awful - 3500 miles?  Something not right there.  Why would a BMW dealer back in the 90s (when the car was only a few years old) hand over something with as few miles?  They could've given them something more appropriate!  Unless of course it was damaged in some way, or maybe even a Cat C or D.

Dealer 2 is claiming the thing was brand new when donated to the college - so why has it had replacement tyres?  Uniroyals front and Avon rear.

If the mileage IS genuine, and there's proof of that, then you'd want to bring the car up to the standard you might expect for such a car - and that won't be cheap.
