530e - Just orderd

79 posts in this topic

Hi All

Just joined and here is my 1st post.

Ordered my 530e last week, and have been quoted a 25 week delivery, i.e. around Jan 2018.

Seems very long, so would be good to hear if others are being given similar delivery times.

I'm a company car driver and my work commute is about 28-29 miles each way.

My present car is the 520d. My 1st BMW after more than a decade of MBs.

What a brilliant car. Love it.

No charge points at work, yet, but hope to charge round the back !

My next headache is going to be installing a charge point at home.

Problem is the cable route from dis. board.

16a would be very easy, but for future proofing I like to opt for 32 amp.

If anyone knows of a good company around the Swindon / Wiltshire area, then please let me know.

I see others have posted their options, so here are mine :-

JA92 G30 530e SE Saloon B48 2.0
C2Y Bluestone
LCRI Cognac/Black Dakota leather
248 Steering wheel heating
3DS Display Key
465 Split-folding rear seats
4LF Fine-wood trim 'Fineline' Ridge with Pearl Chrome trim finisher
4T8 Exterior Mirrors - folding with anti-dazzle
575 12V power sockets
5A1 LED foglights, front
5AC High-beam Assistant
5DN Parking Assistant Plus
6NW Enhanced Bluetooth with wireless charging  + 6WD WiFi hotspot preparation

Ordered mine in early June for early November delivery.

So this seems "normal".

Ordered mine at beginning of April - it arrives in just over a weeks time.

4 month sounds better to me SA83.

That would save me a couple of hundred pound in BIK over a 6 month delivery !

Unless this is only 530e specific, G30's are produced much quicker. Also may depend on what slots your dealer will be able to get. Ordering direct from BMW (Park Lane) or a bigger network may get you the car quicker.

My 520d was ordered on the 13th of May, told delivery will be 15th of July. Car was with dealer on the 10th of June, I picked up on the 30th of June as I didn't want it that early haha

I think it is 530e specific.

Mine was ordered from Sytner as a Leaseplan car - still potentially a 5 month wait!

Just had a look on BMW uk site. A 530e in the same spec as my 520d would be close to £55k, thats £10k more than my car. Company Car tax baffles me but surely there isnt a £2500 a year saving on a 4 year lease in this BIK thing even when compared to a personal lease no?

I'm getting a £50k 530e M Sport for £50 less per month than a £40k 520d SE on my scheme.

Grabbed it whilst I could.

Same here cheaper through company car scheme.

I'm getting a 53k 530e M Sport for £90 less per month than a 46k 520d M Sport (based on the spec I wanted).

Thats before tax savings even comes into play. Figures won't be exact but examples:

530e tax per month

20% rate £9 rising to £73 in 2020/21

40% rate £19 rising to £146 in 2020/21

520d tax per month

20% rate £103 rising to £141 in 2020/21

40% rate £206 rising to £283 in 2020/21

As you can see - a no brainer.

So as an update, BMW genius has confirmed my order as "1100 Scheduled".

Their system is showing a delivery date of 01/01/2018.....!

So matches the original 25 week delivery I was given.

Oh well!

I'm going to call the dealer in August to see if my date has come forward from late October- I doubt it though by the sounds of yours!

Good luck carrman

I've found it easier to talk to BMW Genius on-line rather than the dealer.

Like you, I intend on chatting with them once a month to see if there is any change.

They won't talk to me because it's a Leased Company car!

But as result the dealer could not be more helpful!!

As long as you have order number BMW Genius online do talk to you - I asked them regularly for progress of my order once I had the order number - and mine is a company car

Not me - I've tried.

Not that fussed though as the dealer knows me.

Like SA83 I got the order number from the lease company and then got BMW Genius to check for me.

No problems.

I like the way they go over the top with their customer service.....

One guy came back with a response of "...the status of your amazing car is......"... :-)

Saying all that, it's good to build up a relationship with your local dealer.

Good News - my build date has moved forward a month to the beginning of October.

My dealer "Sytner Commercial" were very helpful again saying "call whenever you want about your "beautiful car""!!

Excellent news Carrman.

I've ordered mine today, yet to have order confirmed but I doubt i'll see it before Christmas. Below are the options i've selected. I had an Outlander PHEV that I ordered but with 2 faults in 3 months I was able to terminate early and order what I really wanted - absolutely makes sense as a company car as with the added options it works out at £350 for a £50k car. Couldn't be happier...although that smile might be wiped off my little face when they quote me lead time. I'm hoping that my employer might hold some sway with the dealer network but that is very mush wishful thinking...

Thanks, anybody know what the rear seat entertainment option is like?

And what exactly is the sensortec instrument panel?...I selected this no cost option as I thought it was the digital cockpit but in fact that is the 'digital cockpit'...
