Will 15s fit on a 530d sport

13 posts in this topic

Hi guys time has come for me to send off my M Parras to be refurbished so will need a cheap set for a week or two.

I have seen a set of 15" style 31s locally, I think these came on pre facelift 520i to I think 528i.

My concern is would they clear the calipers? Has anyone had these fitted to a 530d?

From memory they will not fit a facelift 530d. 16" is the minimum.

I believe all facelift cars had the same size brakes regardless of engine size (except the M5) so as said, 16" is the smallest diameter wheel that will fit. Assuming we're talking about e39's?

Cheaper option?

Like it, don't even bother using wheels anymore?

At the facelift the front discs went from 294mm dia to 324mm with increased width and pad area.

Rears iirc stayed the same.

Could a set of steels be cheaper? You could keep them with winter tyres on too

I bet turbines would be cheaper than steelies. Steelies are pretty rare aren't they and pretty cool in a 'I'm not trying too hard' kinda way.

I believe Renault Trafic and VW Transporter steels fit, albeit probably with spacers. Bet you could pick a set of those up cheap from a breakers'.

There's one of each round my way wering E60 and E53 wheels respectively.
