1983 323i E30 25,000 miles

Recommended Posts

I thought I would share some pics of my 323i , I am the second owner and the car has a genuine 25,000 miles with a main dealer history ( other than when it was dry stored for 15 years) and everything was done at the supplying dealer.

Some bird crap had got on the roof and bonnet so they have been attended too over the last week or so which leaves the wheels to be painted , the mirrors split and bases painted and the new rubber strip to be fitted on the rear bumper

Pics so you can see below ... my other e30 and e39 are also still being well used

Got to love the chromies. I have a diamondshwarz chromie cab myself.

You've got yourself a winner there with a low mileage 323i. Love it!

That's nice. Don't often see early ones let alone the 323i

It's interesting that lots of people slate the 323, and I know the fuel injection is from the arc but it's a lovely engine to drive ... really smooth.

I like the fact it's a lot rarer than the 325 and my 2.5 red car is great but Iv messed with it so much it's lost its cheeky character the 323 has

25k unbelievable! That's a museum example :) Find a local dealer and let them rent it from you to display it in their showroom!

P.S. Just need to get the rear bumper sorted...

Iv not driven it for 18 months untill MOT day yesterday, which it got a clean sheet ... I got chance to look

Underneath properly and it's solid as a rock

Bumper clips arrive in the morning so they will be fitted and the new mirrors come next week from BMW

Then just need to the chrome sorted on the bumpers

If a BMW dealer wanted it there more than welcome to have it as I struggle for storage

Chrome is a pain to polish. I spent a whole two weeks getting mine just right, for it to get trashed after a week of heavy rain, hail and a poo poo ton of dust and crap from a neighbours building work. I cried.

Please, whatever you do, don't get rid. Dealers can bugger off, keep it, garage it, or pay a friend to keep it in their drive/garden/lockup. Dealers won't let it see the light of day.

Love this car.

Also get yourself onto e30zone.net forum and if you're on Facebook, come and find the group. Lots of info, parts galore and helpful (albeit jealous) car perverts.

How do you mean about getting rid to a dealer?? Don't sell it you mean?

I don't use social media but I do have a login to the zone, if it ever gets on to Tapatalk I'll have a look at positing it on there as well

As I say, it is NOT perfect but it is straight and it does present well

It's imperfections are pretty minor for the age of the car and it's been a balance between having the bare minimum paint and keeping it original and I think I have found it, or at least I'm happy with that at this point once the bumpers are complete

Just looking for shows to attend now

Time has come to get the wheels sorted and new period tyres fitted.

I have the original steels which are on the car but I also have a set of bottle tops...

Do I make the car a bit jazzy and fit the bottle tops or just keep it on the steels???? Answers on a postcard I'm torn

Polished bottle tops look awesome. A friend had a set custom made into three piece splits and they looked the business.

The nearside lights backing had gone yellow so went very reflective and it looked very yellow, a friend had a set of correct 'hella' lights for the near side so I swapped over my brackets and metal surround rings and now the front of the car looks much better ( I think anyway)

I love this car. Remember admiring a similar car in 1985 when out with my dad

superb attention to detail work, keep it forever !!

Thanks guys, it's time consuming going back and forth to the main dealers and the biggest thing now are the bumpers

I have a decent condition front to go on but need to source a rear, it's £570 from the dealer so hoping a decent used one will come up
