Correct Sir!

After about 18 hrs here is the end result! An (almost) exact factory install, which was a nightmare because it meant swapping over the four inner door looms and adding dsp wiring to the B and A pillar looms.. Never again!

Sounds ace though! This loom has been in 3 cars now lol

Gonna sand and spray black a wood surround. Screen has a green line down the middle but I'm so chuffed with my achievement I'm not bothered at the moment.

Sometimes you've just got to tell the wife 'see you in 12 hours' and bite the bullet and just do it!

Top job again Chris.

Thing with the green line is is that it's all working now so when you drop on another screen you can just pop it in in 15 mins.

Deffo Ray, the 4:3 screens are ten a penny as well. Cracks me up that there are ebay sellers that consistently price them at £100. They'll be an ice age before someone buys one.

Do you want a leather surround for your tv/nav screen. ?

Its leather from factory I think. I bought it as part of a set a few years ago.

It was off a lhd car.

I only used the door pieces.

Give me a few quid towards postage. Say a fiver and it's yours.

You'll probably need to dye it black to suit your car.

If you don't want it. . No bother. I'll moth ball it.

Great work Chris! Nice to see this car progressing.

You'd only just picked it up last time I was up collecting bits and pieces!

Thanks Bek.

I'm really warming to it now. I've had some probs but it feels like a nice familiar shoe everytime I drive it. Definitely keeping it for all of 2017.

I really like the budget feel to my mods after spending thousands on the 540i and the 523i. Everything I've retrofitted I had already taken off other cars or already owned. All spare parts have been either fully working second hand items for around a tenner, or value aftermarket alternatives, (apart from the inline filter, see below). Car still only owes me about £2.5k even with the new turbo. Selling on the kiddy boosters and the Style 66s has helped as well.

Also like getting 25mpg on my stop start urban commute.

Some updates:

Have changed MAF and inline fuel filter. Still didn't sort issue so there can only be one thing left! The pressure converter and vacuum hoses. Having them done this week.

Inline filter buzzes like no-ones business, really doing my nut - was a cheap Italian one of eBay to be fair. Will stick a Pierburg one on sooner or later.

With a bit of clever ebaying i managed to get myself a 16:9 for free. Got a mark on the screen, but hey it cost me £0

Did 12 month oil change today.

Good bit - 10 litres of fully syth and a Bosch filter for £30. Happy.

Bad bit - the car fell off the jack. Luckily I wasn't under it but the sill is a mess. Not happy.

Thanks lads. I don't own any. Probably need to invest.

May get the sill sorted now. I'll give Wayne a bell
