What did you do to your F07/F10/F11 today?

Yes 19,problem is I need 4 tyres and would like the people who refurb the wheels to fit them as I know they will take care, loads of horror stories about tyre chimps damaging wheels.

Thats what I did, I waited to get my rims refurbed when I needed new tyres. It makes no odds to the wheel specialist if he is putting on your old tyre back on or a new one if it's powder coated or painted properly. If a wheel specialist offers to refurb your wheels without taking the tyre off, walk away. If you get them powered coated, chances are the firm who does it will take care because they know you can reject it.

What you want is a tyre fitter who has a lever less machine. This means no crowbars or tyre levers are put anywhere near your rims and it's all done by machine which uses a small wheel/roller to depress the sidewall of the tyre and then flips it up and over. The guy I used for fitting the new front tyres had a lever less tyre machine.

I wish I didn't care but I do, it's a personality trait sadly.

There is nothing wrong with that trait at all. I understand that and completely agree with ....

You aren't alone with this trait of yours. I really get annoyed with people who have a blatant disregard for others' stuff, whether a watch in for repair or my car - just makes my blood boil. It's mine, I paid good money for it, if I entrust you to work on it, make bloody sure you treat it like I do!

You both, like me and others on here clearly work hard to buy a nice car and with that comes nice (and therefore) expensive wheels and everything else in it which should be treated with respect. My most stressed out days are when the car is in for any work and I spend the whole day fretting about how someone else will be treating my pride and joy.

If you are ever in Johnstone, Collins tyre service on the Beith Road have a lever less tyre machine which also has plastic guards over the clamp that grips your rims, they did my tyres and a puncture repair on the wife's diamond cut alloys without a mark.

Similar to the above, but I stalk* my car remotely so soon know if it is being mistreated along with the dashcam sitting there.

*in numerous ways some more obvious others less so....would like to get my dashcam working properly remotely though.

For those with BMW Labs then it is definitely worth getting it working (a PITA to setup an IFTTT) but once sorted the things you can do nicely extend your ability.

I checked my tyre pressures and not one tyre had lost any pressure. Which is impressive as rather ashamedly I haven't checked my tyre pressures for a couple of months! I'm putting it down to having a good seal between rim and tyre thanks to the rims being powder coated.

Washed it, loads of green appearing around some of the edges. That came away with a good pressure wash and then the two bucket method.

Wheels came up a treat with Bilt Hamber, still evidence of the poor boys alloy wheel wax so it's doings it's job.

Quite ashamed how bad the car was, but every weekend recently has been spent working on the house.

All good now?

Thanks to pot holes I had two buckled alloys, dropping my full 351 set off on Monday for a full refurbishment in the original colour plus the two buckled alloys to be straightened, the buckles aren't the worst ever but enough than balancing couldn't get rid of all the wobble.

My dilemma is I quite like the 613's I bought from SuperDave on here, yes they don't look as impressive as the 19" 351's but they still look good and I can notice the slightly smoother ride from the18"'s..... do I sell the 351's once they are repaired and refurbished or put them back on.

If I didn't have a set of 327's for my winter setup then I would have been tempted.

I will be putting the winters on soon anyway, so no rush to sell the 351's can always wait and see how I feel come march / april next year, just need the other half not to question why there are two sets of alloys in the garage.

Not big enough which is why she will be giving me grief if I dont sell one of the summer sets.

Although would never have had 3 sets if it wasnt for the buckling and no decent refurb places nearby.

Yeah new railway under bridge going in just North of Dunblane. We get "possession" of the railway for 54 hours on some weekends to do major engineering work. That way those who pay hundreds if not thousands of pounds a year for a railway season ticket to travel to work

Mon-Fri

aren't inconvenienced going to their work. Their train will be running normally today as it was on Friday and they won't notice the difference, well they might see the new sign I helped to install.

Do you have train drivers needing to sight signs and signals in your house then?

Fishermen maybe, I took a strange call the other night and someone asked if the coast was clear.

Folded the rear seats down and used it to bring back a radiator from Screwfix. This house DIY lark is nearly finished now. Just four walls to paint, two radiators to fit, several floor boards to refit. After all that lot, I might get round to washing the two winter wheels I took off in April before putting them back on.......Where's the summer gone?
