What did you do to your F07/F10/F11 today?

Recommended Posts

52k mile service and it passed its MOT yesterday with no advisories  have to say changing the fuel filter was a pain in ass!

Minor bummer!

Mind mentioning which insurer wouldn’t cover the mod? Or were they just not competitive?

Surething wouldn't look at it, surprisingly LV did.

That’s mildly reassuring in a way as I’m with LV and I’m on the point of getting mine mapped. Hovering between Celtic and Ecotune at the moment. Same headline figures more or less. Celtic are much cheaper but Ecotune offer dyno runs to tweak the mid-range performance (apparently).

Is it just me or is you're eye inexplicably drawn to the odometer when it gets to a round number (like 50,000), but you don't notice when it's clicking through random numbers?

Yup. It's a nice round easy on the eye number, obviously the lower the first digit the better.:D

Mine ticked over 50,000 miles.

Not bad for a car that is just over 6 years old.

Mine will tick 38k miles next week, not bad for 7 years old. :)

40k is the big service in Lexus, not looking forward to it,  £495!

Went for a drive over the Hardknott Pass and couldn't resist taking a few photos of the beautiful scenery.

Hardknott is quite an experience. Now is probably a good time of year to do it while it's not rammed with tourists. Nice photos. The car looks happy up there :-)

Saw six other cars, four motorbikes and a crazy man on a bike. I imagine in summer it's not an enjoyable experience.

Coming from a small hatchback, I'm still getting used to the size of the new car.

Friday: I went back to Specialist Cars & ordered a spare key - I only got one with the car. Saturday: Went for a decent drive following its return from the EGR recall - and enjoyed every minute of it.  Noticed though that my dashcam had been unplugged - presumably by the garage - so that got plugged back in. The key arrived on Saturday at the dealer too - impressive next day service.

My other half has the car today as she has a fair bit of driving to do, and it's such a nice car for the job. So I'm in the 1 series - which is a hoot!

My inquisitive nature would be asking, did that mean the garage didn't want you to see something?

I dropped my car of at a bodyshop and noted on collection they had done 8 miles in it.  It certainly made them squeal when I asked why they had driven it as they didn't initially own up to it, one of many reasons as to why they were happy to correct their error of their ways later on.

I have 2 trains of thought here. One is that the car was laid up for 10 days waiting on parts, so they disconnected it to save the battery. The second and probably more realistic is that they didn't want to be filmed either working on the car or driving it. Which is fair enough under Data Protection rules.

Both bmw and Audi unplug my camera when it's in the garage, personally I have no issue providing they plug it back in before they hand it back.

Leaving it unplugged is asking for trouble imo.

Update on the Terraclean results.

After installing updated sat nav maps (or installing - still ongoing) I've had to take the car for a run. Says so in update instructions?!

Anyway I've notice no significant improvements after the Terraclean so if you are planning on getting it done, don't expect big results.

Started the dash cam install on my new F07 fairly straightforward once you figure out which fuse is number 54 and that the fuse box is upside down!

Find the camera position mine can alter its view  via the phone.

Run the cable along the head lining  down the pillar and up under the glove box.

Insert piggyback fuse to number 54 and connect earth. Boom! The jobs a goodun.
