Hand built solid pine personalised toy chests / blanket box

Recommended Posts

I am building a limited number of personalised toy chests for the 2014 Christmas period.

The chests are made completely of 18mm solid pine and dovetail joint technique has been used to make the chest look beautifully crafted whilst adding a very strong non mechanical joint.

A cut-out on the front of the chest protects child's fingers from being trapped when closing the lid. A gas strut is also fitted to aid opening the lid and keep it stay open.

To personalise the chest a name can be added to the front of the chest free of charge.

Dimensions: 65cm (W) 35cm (D) 36cm (H)

Price is £100 including preferred name which can be painted in various colours. Names are limited to seven (7) letters on this size chest. Names can be cut as lower case with a leading capital or all capital letters. Postage and packaging is £30 including insurance and usually delivered via UK Mail.

Some examples and detailed pictures below;

EDIT: The gas struts shown have now been replaced with fully adjustable hydraulic soft closing dampers.

I had a request to come up with a similar style book case for a kids bedroom.

These are now available too...

£115

A package deal on the chest and book case can be done for £200

Yeah, no problem Duncan. Is it what you asked about last time with the rollers underneath. If so I expect a cunning plan to hide them in the flooring. You'll have to have a think if you want the floor as a full pine sheet or Ply as it'll make a massive difference in price and weight.

PM me.

Had an order in last night for one with a 'no toys lost under the box plinth'.

Very flexible on plinth design if you'd like to draw your own.

Cool I'd think for a 3 foot by 2 foot one you'd get at least £150...

They look very good quality raymodo.. Get them on eBay :-)..

Cheers Tony,

I'm making just two different sizes until after Christmas as I can't keep up with built to order orders ATM.

Sizes are:

65w x 35d x 36h. £100
82w x 42d x 41h. £140

Postage is £30 for the larger box. £20 for the smaller.

Lots of people seem to go for white on white ATM. I think the broken white / magnolia (to the left of the white one) look better. But, I'm just making the things so you can have it in any colour you'd like really....

They look absolutely epic Ray, they are great.

If my daughter was younger then I would take one, she's at secondary school now :) the days of toys are over. :(
