For sale, my beloved Supercharged E39 M5. I'm sure a lot of people here have seen my car at various shows and yes, it's a lot of money, but please remember that over £65k has been invested in it. It’s with a very heavy heart I am having to sell my pride and joy, I have owned this example for 8 years, the car has recently undergone a 18 month restore / build process, this has all been fully documented and photographed. I have owned the car for many years, I have spent my time restoring it to its former glory, I wanted to build a car with the best components, and yet have a car which was super quick when I wanted without losing any of the original refinement ‘Thor’ as I call him, is utterly civilised to drive, almost normal, but on those occasions when you want to go for it, is sublimely quick, the supercharger is immense and power delivery is shockingly fast, will keep up with most supercars on a good day! Over the years I have achieved this, sometimes breaking the bank, sometimes working all night on the car to get it perfect, I have had many magazine featured cars over the years , and I am fastidious about how the car is kept. This is a very unique vehicle, once in a lifetime build, which has been featured as a cover car for “BMW Car” magazine Over the years, I have been lucky enough to have a few magazine cover cars, I am a true enthusiast, cars and bikes have been my passion for years. The car has the usual high spec of a M5 and has good extra options fitted, such as, Leather (Electric / Memory / Heated / Lumbar) seats, Electric Windows, Electric Rear and Side Blinds, Cruise Control, Satellite Navigation, Sunroof, etc. etc. Please see the Standard and Options details which are listed below. I will include my cherished plate ‘V8 RYM’ (very m) which has been independently valued at £1700 Only for sale due to investing in a new business which is taking up all of my funds, it’s making me sad just writing this advert, my intention was to keep the car forever. The car has been through a multi stage detail, machine polished with 3m products and has been finished with GTechniq C1, and finished with two layers of Swissvax Shield. The build / restore cost is in excess of £65k, so it really is a one in a lifetime car, literally no expense has been spared, this is one serious car and has been created with some of the best products available. Here are the main details of the car, the pictures really do not do it justice, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I've owned this car for just over 10 years and it was my daily driver for most of that. It then passed to my father who did not want to spend any money on it apart from keeping it on the road. Following his death in 2014, it was put on SORN and parked on a neighbour's drive. I now need to move it and I have to admit that I am not going to get around to its restoration any time soon. Before it rots away completely, I thought it best to give someone else a shot at recommissioning, restoring or for parts. The reason I kept it was because I think it must be one of the earliest E34s into the UK and because of the extensive receipts from 1996-2003, totalling over £7000. I also happen to think it's one of the nicest colour combinations I've seen for an E34. It is effectively a 3 owner car although the second owner merely bought it as a trade in then sold it to me. It has about 170,000 on the clock and was running when parked. The faults that I know on it are: Rear strut top mounts broken Fuel leak in supply line (caused by the guy who transported it to the driveway, his ramps were too steep and the car bottomed on the trailer Engine cuts out when full lock applied at low speed The interior is in generally good condition except for the drivers seat where the fabric on the seat base has split. All electrics, windows, sunroof etc., worked okay albeit a wee bit slow. The sunroof does not leak. The engine was pretty sweet but needs a good service and oil change, the cambelt should also be done. It would be great to see the old girl restored again to her former glory, the final picture in the gallery will show you what she looked like just after I bought her and cleaned her up. In reality of course, because she is just a standard 520i, she may be used only for parts. The car is advertised on Ebay too so I reserve the right to withdraw this ad at any time, should it sell there first. If you want to view the car, it is in Glasgow, G33. It will need to be trailered away. The Ebay auction starts at £50 so I would like at least that but I realise that it's not going to fetch much at all. I'd prefer to know that it was going to someone who can either use it for parts for their own project or are going to restore it and get it back on the road. It's a lovely car for a sunny day!
hello, thought i would start a build thread on the old girl shes a genuine 1987 BMW E28 M535I automatic with the sport box, full leather adjustable interior, genuine 86k ,mileage, the usual m535i goodies and also some genuine Alpina rims i live in North Wales, im currently building a VW Corrado hil climb car with a 20vt, and also building my current Audi TT mk1 hybrid (should be around 350bhp ) and also obviously the E28 currently the car does not run due to fuel pump has packed in broken down GOOD POINTS #clean interior #its an e28 m535i #low mileage #well maintained mechanicals #ex bmw display car in north wales area #private plate BAD POINTS #needs 2 sills #2 rear arches (partial) #brake pedal is hard as hell!! #needs a respray #bits of scabby rust here and there (floor pans solid ) #bumpers need restore my plans atm is to get her running healthy, then to sort out the brakes, then the sills and other rust, then onto restoring the body work and interior before going to another full strip, repaint and then a turbo and manual conversion on her here are some pics so far, some progress including heavy jet wash, new plugs, and freeing up some of the brakes so going to get there in the end hopefully,, bonus of it all is that i only paid £250
Hi guys. My name is David. I'm 23 and not driving a BMW (still on notsoFast Fords at the moment) but there are plans to get the poor old E28 520i that has been sitting for +10 years up and slowly jogging again this summer. History of the car is simple. My Dad bought it off a friend when I was 4 and drove the family down from 'North of the Wall' to sunny Berkshire (where we stayed). It was used as a daily on and off for 10 years and has sat it out for the rest. Its a part of the family in my eyes (a forgotten brother locked away in the attic maybe) and I've convinced my Dad it might be worth saving. The car body is still solid (as expected) but as for the rest, who knows! Joined because I know we're going to need a lot of help with this one. It might be a short lived project if it all shite under the hood and things get expensive but lets hope otherwise. So, a big hello and thanks in advanced for all the help!
