    BBS Split rims on 540??

Hi Guys. Question. Were these BBS style alloys available from BMW on my 540 when it was new? See the blue touring below. Oddly, seen a few 528s with these same wheels. bmw-e39-5-series-96-04-528i-se-touring-S2892933-1 by Motion Limited, on Flickr I ask because I really like them and would consider putting them on my car, but I might not if they were never available for my car. This is mine. I know the current wheels were not available in 1998! IMG_1367 by Motion Limited, on Flickr The same wheels I think on this very nice looking 8 series same colour as mine. 368 by Motion Limited, on Flickr Thoughts?
  2. I recently upgraded to Throwing stars, so my original 15x7 (ET20, 72.5mm centre bore) BBS alloys are for sale, including the spare wheel. Part number for all the wheels is: 36111179774 The tyres are all 225/60/15 - the fronts are about 5-6mm (Marshal Matrac) in excellent condition and the rears are around 3-4mm (Continental ContiPremiumContact 2), which are still ok to use. The spare has an old Pirelli P600, but in good condition (5-6mm) and holds air. I have 4 centre caps and the wheels are 100% straight, balanced and tested - ready to bolt on. Would be looking around £250 ONO and collection from west London. If interested, please PM me. Thanks

bbs rc 038 035 tyre size

hi guys i know this would of been asked a thousands times, I've been search about it and find something different overtime so I'm still confused what tyres to get. i have a set of bbs rc 038 035 8j and 9j i don't like the tyres being stretched. i don't want to run the same tyre size all round, I've got staggered wheels so want the rears larger. i have a 528i not the 535 (as I've heard these have there arches rolled) car is currently on standard springs but i do want to lower it and maybe coilovers in the near future, whats the biggest tyres i can get without rubbing issues!! was looking at 235/45/17 and 255/40/17 what do you guys think or is there anyone on here with the same set up. thanks guys

    My new E39

Hi again, I have missed my old 523i since I sold her around 4 years ago. So for a while I have been looking to get back into a 5! I test drove two 525d sports but they just were not good enough and had clearly not been looked after, then I stumbled across this 520i SE. Now I know the engine is a bit of a let down but I was surprised! She pulls really well and the car has clearly been loved. I like modified cars and own An Alfa 155 and an MG Maestro Turbo (both heavily modified) so this SE with the sport bumpers appealed to me! It's really good to be back in an E39!!!

    Back behind the wheel

Have just bought back my old e28 525e that I sold a year and a half ago! Am picking it up tomorrow (if we're all still here in the morning) and can't wait to get back into classic ownership and all the fun it brings. Although it seems the fun's started already. The current owner called today and said one of the centre caps flew off at a roundabout and has taken a bit of a hammering. The wheels are 16" BBS M5 style. Does anyone know if these centre caps are the same for all size BBS wheels? Seem to be a few on ebay for 14" / 15" specific rims that look the same... Have attached pic of the current centre cap which is now in a few more pieces than it should be.

  9. Hi All, Whilst not even looking for another car, I accidentally bought this E28. All the usual excuses apply: It was local, there was nothing on the TV and I was able to lay my hands on the pound notes to seal the deal there and then. So, fate…or something then. The finer details are as follows: It’s a 518i which is good for all the reasons my 316i was good: Fuel economy and light (relative) weight meaning it will be the perfect long distance motorway cruiser. It’s in original condition having been owned by a bank, used by the bank manager, and then given to him as his retirement gift. It’s got every BMW service stamp from day one and is not far off immaculate. It was the test drive that sold me;, it’s perfect mechanically (having just had a massive overhall including a clutch/ fluids etc.), the loudest sound it makes is the injectors ticking. I've bagged myself a sweet pair of rear bumper quarters from the Legendary Tim, a set of Style 5s and have made up my own coilovers... I don't know if anyone can help, but I'm desperately after a new drIver's or passenger seat in pacific blue cloth??? HELP! It Should be a great cruiser for summer. FIRE UP THE LAND SHARK.
