    Which Dashcam do you use?

Thanks @Hurly_Dog Was there a reason why you couldn't use the power magic device in your 5er?

    Which Dashcam do you use?

What's everyone using and what would you recommend? I've been looking at the Blackvue DR750s as I like the simplicity of its design and discrete fitting/siting on the screen but have read mixed reviews. Thanks in advance.
  3. Hi all. I've posted a few times about my BMW OEM reversing camera installation and I'm pleased to say it's nearly complete. I need to make the final connection to the rear right fuse box (see attached wiring diagram). The instructions tell me to connect branch A3 using a miniature connector to the green cable from pin 11 on plug Z2*3B (which I can't locate). The wiring diagram (also attached), states that A3 should be connected to fuse F204. I was therefore thinking of using a connector like the one shown to make the connection. Am I on the right track? Any comment appreciated. Cheers.

Thank you for pointing this out and the post is now edited. Do you know the answer though?

    Exterior Window Trim Removal

I've had a look on newtis.info but I can't find any instructions as to how to remove the exterior window trim on my G31. This is to wrap and change it from brushed aluminium to high gloss. Just wanting to make sure it's a really neat job. Any tips or instructions very much appreciated.

    Reverse Camera DIY Retrofit

Yeah i saw those kits on eBay and not sure what the additional module is. It’s definitely not required for the G30/G31 installation (see attached instructions). Any ideas? fitting instructions.pdf

It's good value compared to this! https://www.bimmer-tech.net/bmw-rear-view-cameras/

Will do. Same kit on this video posted by a different retailer https://www.in-car-install.co.uk/reversing-cameras/bmw-5-series-g30-g31-g38-reverse-reversing-camera-kit-2017-onwards.html#product_tabs_attribute

I suspect the flicker is due to recorded screen refresh. The final image of the car only is because the vehicle has been taken out of reverse so the PDC still displays as this will be needed if say moving forwards.

The manufacturers of the kit are well regarded as they produce kits for most major manufacturers (and there's plenty of youtube videos of installations to look at). Also local dealerships representing different manufacturers refer customers to the firm I'm using to install the kit and he's been around for years which gives me further confidence. Finally - price!

It was approx £330 for the wiring loom and camera + it needs coding. I’ve opted to have one of these fitted instead https://www.nav.tv/products/bmw-reverse-camera-input-i-drive-nbt-evo-touch-screen-revcam-bmw17t Total cost £600 including camera and fitting.

    HUD 3 lines/dots - what are they?

@G Whizz I think you need enhanced Bluetooth for Apple CarPlay integration but could be wrong. Perhaps get in touch with Thomas here https://www.oemnavigations.com/

    Reverse Camera DIY Retrofit

I'm assuming that the ethernet switch is located behind this panel as when I removed the one in the left footwell, I couldn't locate it there.

    No, drivers footwell.

    Reverse Camera DIY Retrofit

I'm thinking of just taking it in to an auto electrician who does main dealer work. For the life of me, I can't even seem to get the bonnet release handle off to get to the ethernet switch. I can't see any screws so assuming it should just pull off but it won't with reasonable force - any ideas?
