  1. Breakout box

Thanks for the reply Richard, I figured you were likely away. Have sourced a BO Box from Rosie. Now just to plug it all in and fire it up.
  2. Breakout box

Ahh cool, so it will still pick up the standard stations? Although I'm guessing it will not be an easy thing to find grrrr. Just thinking about it a bit more, if I was to plug the BM24 (I know it's not as good as the 53, but used to be the Oceania version which was absolute crap lol so at least it's an upgrade from that) radio into the 410c (Via an LOC), I may not be able to control it if I needed to select the input from the IV 'menu' unless the PXA would stay on the last selected input and then I would just need to select the input it was connected to before changing back to FM on the dash unit (Boardmonitor). Somehow I doubt this would be the case though. But am definitely interested in the B/O Box if you have no further use for it.
  3. Breakout box

Hi Richard, I'm wondering if you have, or plan to get some breakout boxes for the IV? If so, could you let me know the price and postage to Adelaide Australia please. As another possibility, is there such a thing as a DAB radio that would work with the IV in Australia? I have the PXA-H100, 420I, CHA-S643, IV, and a 410c so I still have spare inputs to plug things into. Or could I put the radio output (via an LOC) into one of the the RCA inputs of the 410c? If this is possible I think it's the way I would prefer to go and I guess it would keep the other signals (iPod and CHA-S643) "cleaner" as well. I don't have factory NAV, or Bluetooth so I don't need to worry about hearing any of those commands through the system. Cheers Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  4. Problems with new install weird problem

Just FYI, replaced old radio with BM24 and the difference is a lot more than I expected. Sound output quality is much better and Intravee works perfectly!!!! Thanks Richard for your assistance!
  5. iPod charging problem

Great, I shall do. Just about to check with a different, older iPod as well. As always, cheers for your quick reply Richard!
  6. iPod charging problem

Hello peoples, I have a problem where the iPod, every few seconds changes from charging to not charging continuously. It has done this both before and after the kca-42i mod has been done (I thought it may be something related to not having it done). I have 5th Gen iPod touch with genuine 30 pin to lightning adapter and the charge converter. Has anyone run into this problem before? I have ordered another charge converter in case the current one is faulty but thought I would still ask in case it may be caused by something else. BTW it charges fine using the normal charger and everything else works fine. Cheers

  8. Problems with new install weird problem

Cheers Richard for looking into it for me, I really appreciate it! I have bought a BM24 and it's on the way. Will take a while though as it's on the way from Germany. I have updated the video module due to the problems I was having before, with the main difference being it is now a SW ver 02. It works a lot better now with the only real problem being whenever you select the "main menu" option or any option in the bottom right of the display it reverts to the system menu (OBC, Set, TV etc.). I managed to set up a few more things before it went squirrelly (another technical term I'm sure you're aware of) again, and now cannot access the main menu of the IV2. I'm sure the rest will sort itself out once my new radio arrives though. will let you know how it goes anyway just in case anyone else comes across this thread as well and has the same issues.

Sensational!!! I'm sure that will keep me happy until I can source something else
  10. Problems with new install weird problem

Wow, the legends of your fast replies are definitely not understated Richard!! (and of course greatly appreciated) I do not have one, and being in Australia I will try to source one a bit closer than you are. If I get totally stuck I will let you know. I am glad to hear that, as it has had me running around in circles for days, and sounds quite plausible. I was getting very frustrated too, as I am very good with almost all car electronics and have replaced a lot of sensors, upgraded to an LCMIII with no trouble at all and countless bits of coding with NCS, (and that's just with this car), but this had me stumped. What do you suggest is the best way to ensure I don't just get another one that has the same problem this one does? I know I have looked before and think it is a BM24 but I would need to check to make sure. (Unless you can tell from the info thats in the log). Is there a relatively painless upgrade to a newer one (though I doubt I would find a BM54 or similar for a "reasonable" price even if it was fairly uncomplicated).
  11. Hi all, not sure if I'm missing something, but I received a new Intravee a couple of weeks ago and am having dramas trying to get it to behave. It has no problems playing the ipod, as long as I'm only changing between songs with < > or the steering wheel. I originally had a 4:3 boardmonitor installed but have upgraded to the 16:9 some time ago, along with a 16:9 TV module. I have never had Nav of any description. Whilst using Navcoder a while back, the newer TV module went "funny" and now the screen is always blank except for maybe twice when it worked for no reason I can ascertain, (however the buttons still work I just can't see anything). So I have put my old one (module) back in and it 'works' except of course it scrolls like crazy until I select TV then change back to the radio and it's fine albeit in 4:3 format still. I have had this problem before the issues with Navcoder when I was using the newer module though. If I try to select anything with the select button (Right hand side knob press), it goes either back to the radio screen or the main BMW menu and the power button and all radio buttons eg. station preset numbers, mode, basically everything on the left hand side except for the volume ceases to work at all until I power off the car and re-start. I've tried to log the activity but nothing appears at all even when I'm using the iPod and it's working. Only way to get anything to appear in the log is if I use the emulator then the key presses show up and the radio reacts as it should but it still freezes once the select button is clicked, or if I use the indicators since I managed to set the "sticky blinkers". When the intravee is not plugged in, the system works exactly as it should. Better add that I have a 1997 E39 540i Eg.: bmbd fm Command 'bmbd fm' 00:01:02.37 Ready> bmbu fm Command 'bmbu fm' 00:01:02.37 Ready> bmb volup Command 'bmb volup' 00:01:07.40 Ready> bmb volup Command 'bmb volup' 00:01:07.62 Ready> bmb volup Command 'bmb volup' 00:01:07.79 Ready> bmb voldn Command 'bmb voldn' 00:01:10.74 Ready> bmb voldn Command 'bmb voldn' 00:01:10.92 Ready> idxseld 5 Command 'idxseld 5' 00:01:18.16 Ready> idxselu 5 Command 'idxselu 5' 00:01:18.16 Ready> idxseld 1 Command 'idxseld 1' I have manually set to UI-5 and NAV TV. I have also tried using the original 4:3 screen and module and the result is exactly the same. As soon as I got the Intravee I updated to the 7058 (from the TIYC website) with no problems and have since updated to 7146, though this has not changed anything. My first though was something to do with the select button but after changing and trying all combinations of old and new screens and modules the problem is evident on them all. This is the complete log from turning it on, stopping the screen from scrolling, selecting the "CD" and selecting "Main Menu" on the "CD" screen when the buttons stop responding and turning the car off and then back on again. (Although of course I entered the "enq all" commands manually to see what it discovered for each TV module).
