BMW last in terms of reliability in JD Power survey:

The E60 is an old car, and an old complex car. That is a recipe for big bills. I would not buy one today at all.

Ordered bigger hybrids, strip down starts on Wednesday... Expecting to run out of fuel pump  around 460-470BHP but I already have a bigger pump sat here ready to go on it. I'm interested to see how far the R70 pump will go though. That, with methanol will hopefully clear 500BHP. If I make it to 508BHP I'm going to buy the numberplate M55 ETR for a laugh!

When this model  is right it’s fantastic, but the pre lci models are flawed with many common problems..if everything works and the price is right it might be a good buy,but it could also be a money pit...mines cost me over 3k in repairs and upkeep this year alone

hated nexen on my E34, went to continental and michelin since, bloody brilliant, Avon not so great but still better than the budget things.

Never go for what the tyre man recommends, as it'll be whatever he can get that week at a big profit margin.

Can be lots of things but I'll bet it's just a boost hose, very cheap easy fix..530d is single turbo..think it's the vacuum a hole causes that's makes the car very slow before boost kicks in...I'll assume the pressure is to much once the engine is high Reving

had this twice with my 535...was boost hose both times, the smallest of holes, unseen by eye will cause this...mine was super slow before 2500-3000

Oh right - yeah that is very noble of him. Total respect for honest people when it comes to cars or just anything generally. Some guys really exploit the "sold as seen" concept and use it to deceive.

I've had @iiNNeX here today for a remap and DPF tweak. Got that bit done and our of the way and then went for a drive! Gotta say what a guy and his car is lovely! A complete credit to him. I don't envy his 3 hour drive home though!

Also Paul have a quick check of the nipple on the black box sitting just under the cover on the left side...small hose from actuator runs into it...mine was replaced last week aswell as another pipe change to egr...what a difference
only £36 part oem part..I'll assume it was drawing air, maybe just a tiny bit but the difference is quite a lot..
if it's intermittent that could be something altogether different, possible sticky actuator. But that's me guessing

Front brakes tomorrow £432.  £850 a few weeks ago on the old power loss, £350 mot and service two weeks before that and another £350 in January for battery and alternator.  It's been a tough few months
2k in 3-4 months and I've just bought a new house...needless to say I'm struggling at the moment lol
