    F11 rear suspension airbag repkacement

Should do, plenty of guys on here have had them done under warranty. I got a broken rear coil spring fixed under warranty on my F10; so a broken rear air spring on an F11 should be no different, except probably cheaper to fix as you don't need to take a strut out.

    Funny coz it’s true....

My father in law told me to learn the following phrases during his speech at our wedding. "Yes dear" and "yes dear, lets buy that"

Apple Music starting by itself in the car

Is that not a car fault if its prioritizing the phone over say radio or other media connection? I think mine defaults to radio, which is fine. Is there a setting buried deep in the idrive somewhere for selecting the media source as default?

    Headlight dance?

My E39 halogens were candles, compared to my Senator. I actually thought the E60 halogens were much better than those on my E39, until F10 ownership. When using high beam assist during I got flashed at lots as it's a bit dim witted at times. It then failed its MOT on beams being too high, subsequently corrected and sure enough the flashing from other drivers stopped and the beams were noticeably lower. Boo.

So about 5 miles from your house then?

    Next job...

There used to be places here that did that in the UK but I'm quite sure it was stopped on liabilities and/or health and safety grounds. We've all been there with the car jacked up, immobilised after shearing a bolt or breaking something, waiting on a new part, imagine the costs building up on someone's hired ramp.

    Headlight dance?

I think my bogo standard halogens on my E60 did this too on initial switch on. If you have adaptive Xenons the self height adjustment as you drive is quite obvious as the car changes gradients ascending or descending hills. Its that time of year where you get to use the headlights to their full advantage, I'm still impressed with mine especially when used with high beam assist.
  12. Your logic is sound to me mate. Buy a (select from the following) faster/quicker/more powerful/less thirsty car in the first place.

What did you do to your F07/F10/F11 today?

Got two of these delivered today. Its a rubber pad/adapter* to fit between my two tonne axle stands and the cill jacking points. I'll use them when I do my front brakes, jack the car up on the centre front axle point then drop into my axle stands at the cill jacking points. * made from hockey pucks!
  14. It always amazes me that folk who get the engines mapped/chipped/made to go faster but no one ever thinks to check what the 'box is capable of taking as input torque. Or the rest of the driveline or the suspension or brakes......

    Headlight dance?

Yes my pre LCi Xenons do this.

    Misplaced your BMW?

It always amazes me that when cars get stolen, they contain 3 ipads, four iphones, 2 laptops and a set of golf bats.

Winter tyres - it's that time of year!

I was applying sealant and wheel wax to my winters last night in an effort to make them easier to clean.
  19. I agree with all of that. My dad is of similar vintage and he is still working and has all his faculties, (well apart from the one that made him chop in a perfectly good F10 530d for a G01) and would be happy to take another test. But I do disagree with your last sentence as that would imply a need for the driver who has now failed to notice they are travelling the wrong way to then a) read a sign, b) understand said sign and c) take the necessary action which then includes shredding their license.
  20. Sadly I think you are right......

What did you do to your F07/F10/F11 today?

Dealer has advised that they are now going to replace the trailer module on advice from BMW HQ. No faults found in the towbar wiring or the towbar module which were both replaced last week. A replacement trailer module will be fitted tomorrow. The two modules talk to each other so we'll see what that does......... Towbar module controls the swing in and out of the towbar. Trailer module controls the lights on the trailer but is connected via the bus to the towbar module. If there is a trailer plug in the socket on the car, you cannot retract in the towbar as an example. Perhaps the new towbar module speaks a different language to what the trailer module can understand. Slumming it home on the bus tonight.
  22. Horrific. But we will never know why.

    New brake pads and discs

I fitted ATE discs and Textar pads to my E39. Bought from ECP back in the day. From memory the genuine discs and pads I took off were ATE discs and Textar pads. Can't recall what I did about the wear sensor. I never had any issues with them. Jurid are OEM front pads on my E60, Textar are OEM rear pads on my E60. No idea who makes the discs (two piece jobs on my E60) Wear sensor front was Pagid. I'm about to replace the front discs and pads on my F10 and they will be genuine.

What did you do to your F07/F10/F11 today?

For the third Monday morning in a row, mine was dropped off at the dealer to look at my towbar. They have heard back from BMW so have a few more things to check out. Service advisor is also "going to make some inquiries regarding the sun visor damage".
