  1. I know this road and use it a lot when visiting family. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-south-scotland-45665100 The guy got jailed for 5 years.
  2. Found the post I made a few years back asking similar. The links to the products in my post should still work I was not convinced that the Draper vertical rack on coasters would not easily fall over or even if it could cope with 9" wide rims. But it does not appear to be widely available anymore.
  3. Stored in their wheel bags from the dealer lying flat on top of each other with thick carpet squares in between. Cleaned and dried before storing. At normal pressure too

    Your day to day mode?

It's really noticeable. I got an MOT and a new aircon matrix in Jan 17 and since then I noticed the engine being different. I put it down to the fact that since that day I left the aircon on all the time inc start up. On cold start it would start off at near enough 1500 rpm then settle down. Since the software update as part of my ongoing towbar saga, cold start up is much smoother and idles slower at 1000 rpm max and settles to a purr quicker. Its like a totally new car in terms of driveline. Either that or it was just due to an oil change.

    Your day to day mode?

Comfort for 95% of the time. I have been known to flick mine into Ecoslow when in traffic if I'm just trying to chill on the way home. But by far the biggest improvement I've noticed in mine was when it got its software updated by BMW recently. Coasts much better since.

    Top Gear to get worse.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-45937945 Cant stand either of these two. Someone give the BBC Edd China's number.......

Don't play with your phone while driving, please.

If you had specced a decent engine in your Mercedes @Lennox you wouldn't need all the tech in the car to enjoy the drive.

Like this one? The race at the end of this segment is the best bit. Proving that having loads of Torque isn't the be all and end all.

    Glove box/ interior/foot well light F11

Spotted this when looking for something else. Genuine BMW boot LED light. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=FR72-EUR-01-2013-F10-BMW-535i&diagId=03_2269 I would imagine it's considerably more expensive.......

    Shaken not stirred.

It's an oil to water cooler, previous generations use an oil to air cooler, like the aircon matrix. Which in F10 generation is probably just as well as we would all have lost loads of oil......

    @Caesar, that's your oil cooler. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=FR72-EUR-01-2013-F10-BMW-535i&diagId=11_4780

    F11 Restraint Fault

Matthew is quite correct. You are getting the same warnings that appeared on mine after a careless driver tried to shorten my beautiful car. The body shop read the fault codes and had to replace both the front headrest restraints. They had fired to protect me from whiplash. The car did its job perfectly to protect me. Or it's harking back to its E39 routes and firing off warnings after doing something as simple as moving the drivers seat and loosening a connector between the seat and the rest of the cars wiring loom. Again a fault code check would determine if this is a case of a genuine fault from an impact or just a loose connection as in the E39 case..

I'll fess up. Mine was fully warmed up having just done 14 miles in slow traffic and has just had air filter and oil service, when I filmed mine. Your engine bay is much cleaner though.
  16. Remember last year Westminster wanted to ban sales of cars with proper engines by 2040? Well the numpties have now changed their minds to match the numpties that run the Scottish government, by wanting this to happen by 2032. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-45899580 Again same old questions, where us the electricity going to come from? There is no capacity in the national grid for more load to charge our cars from. There is no sign of more nuclear power stations being built to supply base load electricity when it doesn't rain or isn't windy. And more worryingly as the government extorts a fortune from us drivers via Vehicle Excise Duty (which lets face it, is a tax!) and fuel duty (tax!) where is this cash cow going to go, the government will be loosing out on a fortune? Battery tax? What we need is for Cruella to step out of her armour plated 5.0i V8 Jaaaaagggg and into a horrid milk float, like an Auris and watch her sweat when she can't be whisked away by a snorting V8 when an emergency situation arises as it will run out off charge after the first tyre squealing evasive J turn.
  17. I look at it as I've spent plenty and been quoted even more for fixing autoboxes when they've disintegrated when coupled to a stock engine, despite them being serviced by a transmission specialist. Yeah so like I would want to stress them up more.....

Whistle Bzzz sound instead of ptew ptew turbo whistle

Do you mean The noise of the turbo waste gate after you lift off following plenty of throttle?

    Headlight dance?

Light switch set to adaptive. On indicator stalk, lower button on the end, switches on high beam assist. The two functions switched on together make for great night time driving.

    Headlight dance?

Adaptive means the clever bit to make the lights do their dance. On mine I turn the light switch to the 11 o'clock position to switch on the adaptive function. This automatically switches from side lights to dipped headlights as the ambient outside light gets darker. It also allows the headlights to turn their beam to point in the direction of travel. As you turn the steering wheel the beam is moved to point the way the car is travelling. Also when the indicator is switched on an additional 'cornering' light is illuminated. This is the light either side of the kidney grill. Normal headlight is the bulb next to the indicator. On cars with Xenons there is only one bulb 'on' when you change between dipped and full headlights, a mask moves to reveal more of the bulb to give the full headlights. In halogens switching on full headlights switched on the lights either side of the kidney grill. Park up the car against a wall and turn the steering wheel and you will see the beams move and the turning light come on but I don't think one of the cornering lights comes on when steering when stationary to avoid dazzling oncoming drivers.

    Headlight dance?

You need the sensor that detects on coming lights and rear tail lights which is located under the rear view mirror. There is no doubt a 'module' needed and coding to make it all work. Probaly quite expensive to do it.
  23. 535i Andrew

    Headlight dance?

Gotcha, so the newer ones have Xenons but not necessarily adaptive Xenons unless that option box is ticked, then a further option needs ticked for high beam assist? Didn't appreciate that. Thanks. Mine has "visibility pack" which gives S522 Xenons, S524 Adaptive headlights, S5AC high beam assist and S502 headlight cleaning.

    No gauges....

My E39 did this once. Drove it home 6 miles with no speedo, had to guess the speed from other vehicles as its not like I could judge it from the tacho either as that didn't work. Went out to the car a few hours later and it worked and worked everytime since. Never did figure out why but other info I read all pointed to the ignition switch. I just put it down the E39 electrical gremlins. Both front wheel sensors, battery, no dash dials, wipers failing which was quite scary the twice it happened, but like a true electrical fault, cured itself by switching off and back on.

    Headlight dance?

Don't buy an F10 without adaptive Xenons. I think late models it was standard right enough.
