    Rear drivers side footwell soaking

So i managed to get the card off and it had indeed failed at the bottom, got some new butyl seal and redid the vapor seal, this was a couple weeks ago, been raining a lot since and i still seem to be dry! so all good... for me the problem was the sunroof and the vapor seals recommend to check no matter what age your car is unless you have done it already Cheers Daz

Got this same issue with mine, is there a good guide anywhere on checking behind the door cards? are they easy enough to get off? guessing scuttle drains could also be an issue, guessing i just need to remove the filters to check them? Cheers Daz

E61 LCI USB sat nav update help

Sweet glad you got it sorted, the newer version of the firmware is better too, seems to work much better than before for me anyway!

E61 LCI USB sat nav update help

hiya, im in cornwall and had mine updated by howards in redruth, it initially bricked the module but they managed to recover it, this is apparently rare... normally is new module job, they did update the whole car took 2 full days including the bricking and recovery! although was worth it for me as now everything works properly....

E61 LCI USB sat nav update help

the cic firmware is the base version this is best updated by a professional which the right equipment. once bmw or an indy have updated the software you will be able to update from usb, although i doubt that BMW will do this for you. I had to go to an independent to have this done. also it does risk bricking a module... which is a gamble you have to take, mine failed first time but then completed second time and it cost me £130 i think. Cheers Daz

just to add if you plug a usb flash drive with music on it into the glove box usb it will let you copy it onto the internal hard drive.

E61 LCI USB sat nav update help

Hiya, on a car that old unless your firmware has been updated you will have to update the nav via DVD's. the first couple times i updated maps had to do with 3 dual layer DVD's. then last October i had the software in my car updated, since then i can now update nav maps via the USB in the glove box. best thing to do for the phone is to get a Bluetooth a2dp adapter and plug it into the 3.5mm in the cubby hole and power it from the usb next to it, this will give you Bluetooth streaming from your phone and is super cheap Cheers Dazzler

What did you do to your E60/61 today?

Had mine updated today too. Cic took 2 attempts but now my traffic alerts work on the pro nav and I'm assuming I can now update the maps with USB (last time with 3 dvds was a mare... Took 9 days and several reburns of disk 2 and 3!) Local indy did it and cost me just over £100 worth it mind as my Bluetooth now works perfectly with my HTC 10. Mine was on the original software (520D manufacturer date 11/2008) Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk

    520D LCI 163 BHP MPG

Mine is not remapped, it is as it left the factory, and the temps are good (tend to sit in the high 80's early 90's) mine is on 19's too so that does not help, plus it is a heavy car with a small engine. it does much better on the moterway but round country lanes i cant get much better than a 39mpg average, I was hoping for better but im not convinced it can do it in my old fabia I was managing 55-60mpg on the same run to work, smaller car and almost same size engine (and manual!) Cheers Daz

    520D LCI 163 BHP MPG

My 520d sits at around 39mpg, 570ish to a tank. Country roads 20 miles to work and back 35mph average speed. On the motorway does way better. Get up to 50's then. Mine is an auto. Cheers Daz Sent from my wireless telephone!

Think it's the other way round. I have active xenons in LCI e60 and mine has just 2 h8's one either side. At the moment I have some cheap led in mine and they only really light the inner ring... The outer glows a little... Sent from my wireless telephone!
