    ac compressor

Just on the off chance, as part of ac recommissioning, I'm in need of an ac compressor for the beast. I think the genuine p/n is 64528390468 but more knowledgeable folk may correct me. Anyone out there got hold of a good one? Cheers

    Duxford Spring car club visit

Hi Chris Let me know which car you'll be bringing and I'll try to find you. Unfortunately, my M5 is still in the garage having its ac recommissioned so I won't be able to bring that along. Because of that, I booked as an individual but I'll be making my way over to the BMW car club section! Hope to see you Sunday! Cheers Beej
  3. Anyone thinking of going to the Duxford Air Museum with their cars in Spring (Sunday 6th May)? https://www.iwm.org.uk/commercial/venue-hire/iwm-duxford/motor-visits Does this forum constitute a 'car club'?! I think they mean official BMW club member perhaps. Anyway, individuals can also go along.
  4. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C984605 Not sure I'd want a car associated with Nuremberg! I'm sure he meant Nurburgring...

    M5 valet today. Results

Ben from Prisdean came back today to do my 330d daily. Again, a fantastic job! Very pleased with his efforts, I'll be using him again for a top-up to both cars in 6 months.

    M5 valet today. Results

Hi all Just wanted to share some lovely pics after I had my M5 valeted today. The paintwork was already beautiful but it is pristine now (bar the odd tiny scratches that need paint correction). One of the pics shows the local (Cambridgeshire) chap who did the work, highly recommended! Plus, my first ever E34 M5 'fix' was the replacement of the front fog light bulbs, which now work! Enjoy.

I did read the advert but it seemed the photographer wanted a 'vibrant' colour rather than black (or that's how I read it anyway!).

Drops of oil on this 'thing'

You know I thought that as soon as I hit send and once I'd managed to trace the pipes when the engine cooled! im hoping to get the ad recommished next week. Thanks for the explanation.
  9. Hi all Can anyone tell me what the hell this thing is?! I noticed a couple of drops of oil on it, whereas a similar looking thing (bottom left corner) is dry. It seems like a rubber cap on something, that nut is there for show as far as I can tell, it's not wound onto anything. Someone please enlighten me!

One to ask him. He's only a few miles from my house so easy for my valet but other sure the geographical area he covers. http://prisdeanvaleting.com

OK, not in any of the pics above! Look at the bottom corner of the front bumper in this picture, the silver detail.

There are two fine scratches (about 4-5inches each) on the bottom of the ns front bumper and ns rear bumper and a small (£2 coin size) on the of bottom of front bumper, which you can see in one of the pics above. Other than those, the paint is fantastic.

    New owner of M5 3.6

Hi everyone So after the debacle re: M5 3.8 i was going to purchase a week or so ago, a member contacted me to say he'd been thinking of selling his car. I think he's quite well know here, Andy (aka ringsideE34). After reading his thread, I didn't hesitate to say I'd have it! I just got the car today and of course my first ever picture is at the petrol station! A massive thank you to Andy for all his hard work and I'll try to continue the improvements to this great car. There are a few minor niggles to sort out but Andy was completely transparent about them. Not much to ask considering what he's done already! Here's to many years of enjoyment!!

It's 'just' had a wash..ish , wasn't detailed as the paint was already good. The details are 1. Snow-foam wash 2. Shampoo'd 3. Clay-bar'd 4. AutoGlym polish applied 5. GTECHNIQ EXO sealant applied to bodywork 6. G1 clear vision applied to windows (hydrophobic water repellant) 7. C5 Wheel armour applied.

Thanks to everyone for their kind words, I rely on all of you for advice since I'm new to the M! I've been opening the taps since the weather got better and I can tell you, it drives fantastically well, even better than I expected. The engine is more responsive low down than I thought but it's the handling that's been really surprising. For a big old beast, it really does turn wonderfully well into corners with a lot of confidence, so you tend to give it more,...and it handles that too! So far so good, I'm over the moon with it!

That's far too much praise for me! The bulk of the work has been done by Andy, I just hope to complete the project!

Checking fuses is the extent of electronics knowledge! Next, open things up to check wiring... when I can get round to it.

Thanks BB! My next mission is to tackle the interior - door cards, rear seat split in seam and get the interior brought back to healthy 'skin'! Still a couple of electrical issues (wing mirrors not working, memory seat module? not working, interior/reading lights not working, odometer reset 'knob' in dash doesn't reset the mileage to 0) but once done, that will be the car pretty much perfect! Any advice on any of these electrical issues will be gratefully received!

Thanks MJ! I just wanted to get a winter protection valet done on the car to protect the paintwork. He did a great job so I'm getting my daily 330d done in a couple of weeks. Before anyone says winter is over, look at the forecast for the week ahead!

Dead battery, how do I get in the car!

I'm thankful at least one of the doors worked! Well I had to abandon reviving the car as I was called away today. Now I know I can get in, I'm not too worried any more. Thanks for your advice.
  25. Hi all Unsurprisingly, i tried to get into my car today and the doors won't open. The alarm light is also out so I have a dead battery. How do I get into the car so I can actually open the bonnet to jump start the car?
