    Eibach spring kits

Hi All I've asked Eibach but does anyone know what the difference between these two kits is, apart from the 5mm drop at the rear? Eibach Pro-Kit Performance Spring Kit E10-20-022-01-22 £242.20 https://www.eibachshop.co.uk/eibach-prokit-performance-spring-kit-e10200220122_p31223148.htm#.XGcMZt_nizc Eibach Pro-Kit Performance Spring Kit E10-20-022-04-20 £124.13 https://www.eibachshop.co.uk/eibach-prokit-performance-spring-kit-e10200220420_p31223145.htm#.XGcMi9_nizc I'd prefer a smaller drop at the rear, so the cheaper set seems better for me. £118 seems an insane difference in price for just 5mm difference though - am i missing something obvious? They both come with front and rear springs as far as I can see. Or maybe the cheaper set is one side only (x2) Thanks Mike

    Eibach spring kits

Thanks, looks good. Decides im going to stay standard on the back but may drop the front at some stage. For some reason my msport rides high at the front but it hasn't had suspension delete or change. I think BMW used the same springs for 530d and 530i but the petrol lump is lighter..

    Eibach spring kits

61k so positively ancient by modern BMW standards. Hehe. I'm not ready to put new shocks on but thanks for the tip. I've heard good things about those shocks and they'd be high up on my list for the front at least. Just going to do the one spring for now so OEM unless I find others have failed.

    Eibach spring kits

Yeah might there. I was sure it said they were for f10 models. Will try and phone them in the morning though at this stage I'm tempted to keep to OEM as I've found the sachs msport springs for a good price.

    Eibach spring kits

Haha no problem as I got to see your car.. very nice!!!
  7. Are the for the rears? Wondering if I should get them for mine when I do the spring. Also I'm looking at eibach pro 25mm drop at rear, 30mm drop at front. Less than 150 quid for four compared to over two hudred just for rears from BMW. Seems a no brainer. Mines already had new rear shocks and is only on 60k!

    Rear spring

Hi Could you give me a price for a rear spring for DN 98021 please? Are these supposed to be replaced in pairs at 60k? If so please quote for two. Delivery to Cardiff. Thanks!! Mike
  9. It was a spring after all, figures. 60k is good going for a BMW rear spring! Doesn't seem to be anywhere near tyre but they need replacing anyway. Eibach, H&R, or BMW.. is the question. Good opportunity to drop it slightly as the front has always sat higher than I'd like..

    Over-tightened Wheel Bolts

    Amazing really isn't it.
  11. Cheers, good point. MOT due next month and my mate is doing the test as he let's me have a poke around underneath while it's on the lift. If I don't see anything obvious this weekend I'll get the test done earlier.

    Over-tightened Wheel Bolts

WOW! So even though they had been damaged they were willing to replace them under warranty. Outstanding.
  13. Drove out of the driveway this morning and after around 5 metres heard an almighty bang with a hint of clang!! Never heard that before, it was very cold so hoping it was the two part brakes (my 530 has those I think) or only other thing i can think of was a broken spring (came from rear) or a stuck rear caliper. Will have a look this weekend. Really odd.

    Over-tightened Wheel Bolts

I know I'm going to get flamed for this but I think this is partly a symptom of PCP and cheap finance. People just don't give a stuff about their cars any more. It's white goods. The ease of accessibility through cheap finance has dialed the aspirational aspect of car ownership to zero. In turn, garages servicing cars have increased their DGAF ratios because they know 9/10 punters won't care or won't notice. I've seen it in BMW dealers and also first hand at a paint/bodyshop where they even commented that most people don't even check the quality of the paint work etc when picking up and signing off.
  15. Lovely car OP! Good luck with the n53, I have one too and its been fine for me too. Touch wood!!!!
  16. I've had that judder when the battery is a bit flat. Also when I had a coil pack fail (it was missing every now and then for a couple of months before it failed completely). The piezo injectors take a fair wack of power to work and the lean burn can show up a weak spark.

    Swap out the F10....?

That's the exact same car you posted earlier isn't it!?

    Swap out the F10....?

Nah its easy. Tons of room. And i've got hands like an adult.
  19. Same here. Last weekend I had a 3 series f30 and f10 side by side and was hop hop hopping between the two once i had the driver seats in a nice position. I found marginally better leg room in the f10 based on space in front of my knees. My daughter found the f30 too cramped (she is a tall 9). F30 is good but personally for whatever reason I find the f10 better, which is at odds with a lot of other findings. I guess it all depends on driver seat position ultimately

    Swap out the F10....?

Lol I doubt a few extra petrol engines are making a difference to global co2 levels, interesting and shocking that they've risen though. Diesel pollutants are harmful at the micro / local level. I.e. the immediate environment. Petrol is mostly co2 which is global impact but vehicles as I understand it are a tiny tiny part of the overall co2 source. Happy to be corrected on the above two points is just my understanding. Love my petrol f10. Just can't decide what to replace with if anything.

    Swap out the F10....?

Yeah told you! Got to work the nasp six pot. That's part of the attraction for me but appreciate it's not for everyone. I can't stomach diesel personally not the smell, vibration, or the way they give a shove but don't keep feeding in power. Like a tease. Interior is tricky on f10s. Mine is alu with black and its what I want on next car too. Clean and modern. Surprising how many m5s you see with the fake wood. 17k is way too much. WBAC will be 10.6k tops. 13k more like it from a dealer.

    Swap out the F10....?

No problem. Happy to help out a forum buddy but also if it had really spun my gears id have come away with it Did you drive the 530i? I asked the 535i dealer about two year warranty but apparently there is no margin in the cars at all. Pile em high sell em low... (lol) Btw that 535i I checked the footwells and they seemed dry, AC seemed to work. Wasn't sure if I detected slight smoker smell tho.

    Swap out the F10....?

So I drove the 535i. Condition wise the front tyres looked odd to me, sort of strenched look. Tiny dent and chip on rear passenger door. Corrosion on door edges of driver and rear driver side doors. Otherwise very good condition in and out but clearly been sat a while as the brakes were very rusty. Interior I'm not taken on, not keen on beige against silver alu trim but each to their own, was light and airy. Sunroof was nice, would love one. No HUD but does have HK. N55 is a nice engine for sure is quicker than the n53 but there wasn't as much in it as I was expecting, not all that much at all really just lazier and less revs. Sport Gearbox was nice and seemed more responsive. I think the lci car and especially box drive much better overall than my pre lci (my rear tyres are past their best, in fairness). Steering seemed heavier and the suspension more planted somehow, tighter perhaps as lower miles. So not enough in it for me to change (m5 is better value at 5-6k more) but the LCI is much nicer than pre LCI. Hope this helps.

    Swap out the F10....?

I find it good tbh. Plenty quick enough for me, never found it lacking. You get the best out of the engine by driving the 'box though. Use DS and manual when you need to make the most of the throttle response. D is too lazy I find for anything other than moderate plodding. Don't drive it like your 330d or you'll be disappointed. Be interested to hear what you think.

    Swap out the F10....?

That 535 is near me. If I get time tomorrow I'll take a nosey. Curious to drive a 535I and see if there is much between it and mine.
