  1. I'm pretty sure the X8R kit comes with the high temp sealer for the corners of the gasket. My kit arrived last week but with a broken foot I haven't opened it yet! lol Also, use code 'VALUED' at checkout on X8R and you'll get 10% off
  2. It's only half a tank of diesel on the way back, and at the end of the trip you'll know your new 39 inside-out
  3. Lovely looking 39, very keen price that too.
  4. I'm surprised it's not gone yet. I've found selling 39s that it can take a while to get someone to view, but first one along buys. I don't know if you're finding the same? Anyhow, good luck for a swift sale now
  5. Welcome to BMW ownership! That looks really nice, the interior is super-clean
  6. Well if all goes to plan, I'm picking up a silver 530i Sport Auto tomorrow morning - my first petrol E39 (Excuse the dull pics, it was getting dark!) I'll be the 12 owner! However, it's only got 125k miles on it, very clean indeed, especially inside there's little signs of wear. It's got four new tyres, a lot of new suspension and cooling system components and drives beautifully. Spec isn't too bad, not as good as my old 530d sadly. Prof sat nav (MK4), heated seats, a Baris upgraded amp with AUX and removable tow bar. Looking forward to burning some petrol for a change!!
  7. No worries. Worth it for 16 notes I reckon
  8. Here's the link - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131601584429?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&var=430972799392&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I went cheap as wasn't sure if the colour would work. However, whilst they're not the thickest, they seem a very good fit and probably better than a set I bought for £25 last year. I'm expecting them to go fluffy quickly, purely because they're cheap. If they don't I'll be well pleased [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. They were yes. It's a subtle change, but in the flesh I think it looks ok.
  10. That's the one! It's a great book!
  11. Haha, I have the exact same book since it came out in the 80s!! (I'm guessing it's the same one.) That's what I thought of as soon as I saw the mention of Koenig
  12. Nothing earth shattering for me today, just a subtle mod. Being silver with black leather I think my E39 is a bit dull really. I thought I'd go for something 'stealthy' rather than bright to lift the interior a little - some dark grey floor mats. Not exciting but for 16 notes off eBay it was worth a punt! I'm quite pleased with the result - I think it looks quite classy in the flesh. I'm sure they'll go fluffy quickly but they do fit really well and have the right fastenings with them to.
  13. Oh wow even nicer!! I like what Koenig do, not seen anything of theirs for a long time
  14. That's awesome! Sounds good too I did like the black Testarossa lurking in the wings
  15. I would certainly if doing the mod. No plans to at the moment though - still in the quandary if to keep my current 39 (petrol) or go diesel again.
  16. Happy days!! [emoji1303][emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I sympathise. I'm 7 weeks with my foot in cast so really missing it now. I went to my unit today to check on her and start her up. Sadly she's parked up outside and filthy now [emoji30] You can't see in the pics truly how dirty she is! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I like those a lot!
  19. What, you're not trading in your E26 for it??
  20. Have you booked your flights yet?
  21. So my new 530i is rather loud on cold start - which seems to be the viscous fan running from start-up. I've not dug into this too much yet, other than noticing the loud noise when accelerating from cold - it doesn't seem to last long however which is partly why I hadn't looked in to this further yet! However, my temp gauge sits at 11 O'clock on the gauge when the engine has warmed-up, and running temp is 82-84 degrees so I had been thinking about replacing the thermostat as this seems too cool from what I've researched already. I'm thinking now though if maybe it's the viscous fan keeping things too cool - IF it's running all the time? With the engine off, the fan rotates by hand smoothly with some resistance, it's not notchy or anything so feels ok and the electric fan isn't running from cold start. I guess ultimately the question I'm asking right now is what's causing the viscous fan to run immediately on a cold engine? Thanks in advance
