    I'd settle for a 308, they are beautiful cars. But yes, the 288 looks rather special. I've always fancied a Citroen HY panel van, I don't why but I wouldn't mind one.

    Problem removing 525d crankshaft damper pulley

    The crankshaft pulley is common on the m57 engines, I had a quick read while mine was going and luckily I had the pulley in the boot at the time, so I drove to a friend's garage and was hoping to get to do it myself but was busy with other stuff. They ended up changing the water pump as well as a precaution.

    Them LED number plate lights were in the newer series of BMWs, I remember seeing them and reading about fitting them to an E39. I can't remember which series it was though

    Problem removing 525d crankshaft damper pulley

    Hi. I had the same symptoms and noise on mine when the crankshaft pulley went. The garage removed the radiator and stuck an impact gun on it, you can buy cordless guns if you wanted to. By the way, can't you leave it drive with the ignition on, wouldn't that have the same effect

    E39 coding

    Hiya, so I've been having a go at coding a few modules on my E39, currently have coded, auto lock, panic mode, beep on lock and unlock, flash on lock and unlock (didn't used to flash on unlock), emergency brake light. Just done the GM3 at the moment. Just wanted to know if there is any other cool stuff other people would recommend. I've already downloaded the original LCM module and will be tackling that next. So what ideas have you got?

  10. Hiya does anyone have an engineer they recommend for AC repair around South London/ Surrey. I'm willing to travel. It's for a 2010 Kia cee'd, and I've been told that it's the condenser leaking, they did a UV light test which they charged £60 for. How much should I be looking at to get it repaired? They quoted 380 to replace the condenser. What do you guys think about that? Thanks
  11. I think he should have allowed the owners to have the cars back after paying the correct amount of import tax and a fine of some sort. But this guy likes to set an example and make a show out of it. He's tough but he gets the job done

    E39 propshaft

    Most likely culprit is the propshaft donut / vibration damper. They'll be a clang when switching from drive to reverse, pressing or releasing the accelerator when moving. The center bearing needs the prop to be split in half, I believe it's one bolt and then using a bearing puller, get the old bearing off. I'm yet to do this on mine, exhaust and heat shields need to be removed. Good luck Edit: just to add, if you're doing only the vibration damper, It can be done without removing everything completely. I think it's three bolt, the exhaust can hang loose and the heat shield moved out of the way. You can see the damper while looking under the car so it's within reach.

    Thinking of returning to an e39...

    The 335is have their own issues, high pressure fuel pump causes reduced power, injector failure, leaking valve cover gasket. A friend of mine has one and the problems kept building, it's finally sorted now. A quick search reveals they are common problems.
