    PXA-H800 OPT Input

And that's its primary purpose but you have the same thing in your car I do. 420 with a touch going into an h800. This just adds another source, blutooth. I still have my 420, and I promise the blutooth sounds better.

I found this too https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4296404?start=30&tstart=0 So it appears none of the apple portables support it, and use AAC instead. I guess what is important to me is the high quality da doing the conversion, and not which code it is. No matter what this blutooth reciever works well and sounds great. Maybe there are better devices to do this, for me it was spending around $50 to get blutooth.

    PXA-H800 OPT Input

Wow! That's all I can say... Thanks to Richard I have an optical input! Now I must almost insist, if any of you have an optical input, and use a iPhone for music, do this! Get the firmware from richard, Order a rocketfish Bluetooth module and a 12v to 5v dc adapter and hook it up with power, ground and optical. The bluetooth module listed uses the newest aptx format, and then you get to use the D/A's in your processor. It sounds fantastic

perfect? but how? what is needed? if i have to loose the 420 to make this work i will, i just want a beeter sound from these compressed files, and it would seem that the DA's in the alpine are better

to answer your question....with a question, sorry right now the intravee is connected to the hu ainet port my 420 is on the changer ainet port in the intravee setup menu for the keys 1-6 there are other input options, can i use one of those for the optical input? then i can keep the 420, and add the bluetooth as a third source? i understand it would only be select able with a hard key, say 6

    PXA-H800 OPT Input

in the setup menu for keys 1-6, and in the options are source inputs, so i tied each one to a button but none work. in the setup menu of the alpine processor the opt inputs are grayed out, in the manual it states these might not be available depending on head unit, so is it the way the intravii is reporting what it is mimicking?

    PXA-H800 OPT Input

let me explain then, I purchased a Rocketfish bluetooth adapter that has all the newest bluetooth coolness, and a optical output. i ordered a 12v to 5v power supply to power it. i would like to be able to bluetooth from my iphone and use the D/A's in the alpine. i understand i will NOT have metadata on screen but would expect the ainet controls to still operate. right now i have a 420 hooked up.

Help! How do I get the OPT inputs active? I read the alpine manuale but it states these might not be available depending on witch head unit is used. i messed around with it but never got it working.
