    Yet another Alarm problem..........

Doh! Forgot to say car is 1998 E39 535i Regards
  10. Hi Guys Have searched the forums and the closest thread to mine is this one.....http://forum.bmw5.co.uk/topic/28837-oh-no-another-alarm-problem/?view=findpost&p=304778&hl=interior+sensor I have a new battery on the car, fitted by previous owner before i bought it, and I have discovered that the dredded bonnet switch is already disconected. My symptoms are simple lock car wait one minute alarm starts to beep hazards flash, press lock button twice to disable interior sensor and all is well with the world! So my question is refering to the old thread above how do you remove the cover of the interior sensor and would dust affect it? also can you disconect it permanently ala bonnet switch and would that affect the alarm system? Hmmmmm slightly more than one question but you get my drift As always many thanks in advance for any replies. Regards

Hi Guys Thanks for the offers bmwtastic and AnilS but I have just bought a 1998 R plate 535i E39 saloon. Its got 151000 miles on her and is silver with grey leather. The chap I bought it from, although I dont collect it till next Saturday, has spent a small fortune on it in the 3 years he has owned it. Three of the receipts he showed me totalled £3.6k! It has had a reconditioned gearbox (£1500) the rest of the bills total another £1k to £2k. Its not perfect ie there were advisories on the MOT cert but nothing I dont think I couldn't handle. Paint work and interior really quite good considering its 15 odd years old.
