    Remote services

Question was clear really; does it not come as standard for the first 3 years. Clearly not so thanks for the answer, I'll purchase it. I also have a sunroof

    Latest recall

I had this issue in my 2013 730d. Exhaust smoke stated coming into the cabin. Took it to BMW independent to diagnose. They said egr needed replacing as well as inlet manifold which had a hole burnt into it at the rear, said it was a common known problem. They put caution on driving it further as the hole was apparently adjacent to fuel pipes which if breached would cause a fire. Just after that BMW issued a recall. Called the dealer and they said my vehicle wasn't covered by the recall, yet my mates 6 series gran coupe was, with the same engine etc. Cars gone now as I bought a new 6 GT but just as I got rid to the dealer BMW issued the second recall.

    Remote services

Hi,Just bought a 11 month old with 5k on the clock. I've got all services within connected drive except WIFI hotspot, Office 365 and Remote Services. All other options I have until 2020 which would be 3 years from manufacturer. My question is around remote services, is this not a service which should come as standard for 3 years also, it's asking me to pay £29 for 12 months?I have emailed BMW but I never get a reply.Thanks.

    Retrofit heated steering

Just had a look on realoem also. Seems those with the f36 in this particular post all have the same wheel part number regardless if it's specced or not so those lucky souls can upgrade relatively cheap. As sjak92 notes, for the G the part numbers are different for various combinations of heated wheel and driving assistants

    Retrofit heated steering

Maybe, but that is not what was found here by several people, so worth checking?... https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1526656

    Retrofit heated steering

I've been reading on the F30 forums about people that have retrofitted heated steering only using a new button and coding, i.e. the wheels already had the heating element. Has anyone looked into this with the G3X models? My car has most options except this and wondered how easy it would be to do so.

    BMW EGR "Technical Campaign"

Odd. I currently have exactly this issue with my 13 plate 730d. I took it to an independent (ex BMW dealer mechanic) to get diagnosed following the engine management light coming on, coolant loss and smoke coming from under the back of the bonnet when stationary. The diagnostic revealed EGR coolant leak into the manifold burning a hole into the rear hence causing the egress of smoke. Result is about £1800 to repair. The issue is that the mechanic issued a warning that the hole in the manifold was directly against fuel pipes at the rear so there was a risk of fire. I was going away the next day and wasn't driving the car so agreed to book it in at a later date for repair. I now see this, which describes exactly my issue, yet calling BMW this morning they state that my vehicle is not subject to any recall?
  8. I'll try and get to the Indy tomorrow and see what they say. What's the remedy for a coolant leak into the egr?
  9. Hi guys, This is actually an F01 but the same N57 engine so thought I'd ask here if anyone experienced similar... Driving up the road the other day and started to smell smoke. Thought it was the car infront then further along I realised it was coming out of my circulation vents. I pulled over and popped the bonnet and it seems to be coming from the dip stick at the rear of the engine bay (passenger side). Taking the filler cap off showed some smoke coming out of that (white). Not loads of it but enough to think, is that normal? I then drove home. Performance is as normal and no issues. About 6 miles later the yellow engine dash light came on. Got home and loaded up ISTA and read the fault codes generated which are as follows: 24CE00 - Hot film air mass meter: ratio of measured to calculated air mass too high also... 290900 - Air system, air to egr mass flow, plausibility: measured air mass compared with calculated air mass too high. Does anyone know what the problem may be? I reset the fault codes and the light went out, yet it comes back on after several miles of runabout. I've been out several times since and it seems fine except each time I reset the fault it eventually comes back on, so something is up. I'm not getting smoke in the cabin any longer however. thanks in advance.

Smoke from engine and yellow engine dash light

Could be, my treck to work is 11 mile each way and it's mostly traffic. Last blast of constant 3 hour motorway driving was probably a couple of months back. How would that explain the smoke coming into the cabin from the engine bay?

Galaxy S5 Lollipop USB Connected Drive.

P.s. Music streaming and telephone work fine over Bluetooth. It's just the connected drive app via usb that doesn't work.

Galaxy S5 Lollipop USB Connected Drive.

The Connected drive app doesn't detect anything is connected and the wizard within I drive changes to "not supported" from "not detected".
  14. Hi all, I have a 2013 F01 with NBT iDrive however my question is generic so posting in the F10 forum for help. Has anyone managed to get a Galaxy S5 with lollipop working via USB with Connected Drive App? No matter what I do I cant get it to work. Thanks.
