  2. Hi All, Some may be aware that Liquid Leather sold out last year and are now in the hand of Star brands...Something I know was coming Now the difference between the old Liquid leather and the new as a business has completely changed, which I find quite a exciting. Same product's, different labels and ultimately different pricing, this will affect the discounts offered. Some price have risen, some have fallen. Ive got to say that my voice has more than been listen to. they are very receptive to change and also listening to what customers say. I have been dealing with Liquid Leather for over 10 years and I am there longest and most experience Auto customer. I may use Liquid leather products but having come across most issues, I have changed the way some are used, or added another items to some of there products to get what I believe and based on tests better results. So a product range will be formulated, some will be eliminated altogether and some additions will be added. Extensive testing has taken place with adhesion and protection and believe we (bespoke) have some unbeatable formulas So once everything is finished I will start a new thread as the old (this) thread may have recommendations that are no longer relevant ...John

  11. It is coated but like all leather is wears. Tiny micro crack open up over time and its there where the condition will seep into. Only use a bit, don't go mad Nappa leather (full grain) has pores from factory with an anti scuff sort of protection. John
  12. Hi Sure, its something we can look at doing. Why do you want to change it, is the foam damaged or is the leather a little baggy You can contact me at sales@bespokeleathering.com Its just I don't get notifications and miss checking the forums some times John
  13. Hiya I've got an M62 engine and its done about 150,000 miles. Its getting a little rattle on start up ,not all the time but more often now and Im looking to sort it out. A few weeks ago I changed the cam cover gaskets as there was a slight leak and knowing they hadn't been changed thought it would cure the misfiring issue. I was right and the misfiring stopped ( little oil down spark plug ) Now if you haven seen the inside of a 150k cam cover which (not owner from new) hasn't had the best service, you can imagine the crud that's collected. The oil breather pipe was also well blocked with crud. The worst thing I could have done was to scrape out the crap from the cover as I would not have had everything to hand to get all the bit outs and could have caused a bigger issue with floating debris. so planned to do this at a later date. I've been advised that on start up, the bottom end rattle could be a lazy oil pump. the crud at the top will almost certainly be at the bottom, clogging everything up so I wouldn't be surprised if the pump is a bit clogged Taking the covers off isn't a big job and while the covers are being cleaning I was looking at taking the sump off and also having this cleaned. at this point I though, well Vanos, im sure this could do with sorting out and not fussed about working on this engine thought id tackle it (going to change water pump and bleed power steering as well) So Vanos. I've seen a few places that sell the kits...but... do you have any recommendations, links or experience in doing this. Im after a kit list, everything to over hall the vanos including seals and press tools (if required) any alignment tools for the cams also. I know its not a 5 minute job but best to tackle everything in one go. Any advise? Cheers...John
  14. The main thing is that you have had a go. If done again im sure you would do some things differently. Be good to see the pictures when you get a chance
  15. Hi Jamie Its good read that you are "testing" as advised. Seeing what you can get away with doing etc. Its quite refreshing to see someone doing important preparation and while it helps a great deal, when you come to put the finish material on you will be drawing on all your preparation experience which you may have tweaked a little, to get the finish you want. As you mentioned, some parts are easy to cover and some are just a right pain in the bottom. Once you cover the harder parts and look back at some of the easy parts you covered prior, you will then think that the are even easier to cover! There are lots of different corners, undulations and compound angles when covering but after doing the work your currently doing you can just look at a part, extract the hard areas to hit and then plan your attack and start to finish will be in a set process which you have subconsciously planned out in your mind. Understanding what the material will allow you to do is part of the prep and its sounds like your doing it nicely. Ive been covering "items" for a good few years now and while I find it challenging and love doing it, there will be times your tested! with the added fact that what your covering costs £££££ adds the extra pressure. But its all good If you need anymore help just call! John

  19. hiya My wife asked me to look at getting her a dash cam for her car. I know there are a few out there and did some reading last night but thought id call on your opinions/ experiences I'm not after something that would film a Hollywood Movie or the size of a hand held. Something small compact and reasonable in price. small ish screen. Single camera me thinks I do see some at around £20, but I guess you get what you pay for. not saying there bad as I do not know enough about them. Cheers...john
