If your taking the manifold off you should also replace all the vacuum hoses as they will be toast. Also clean manifold ports and egr.
  2. E39 Sport Touring Airsus Delete

It might be easier to fix it. I find the Air suspension very useful and a unique feature to the touring.
  3. Front Control arm dramas

I found this piece on the floor. Looking online I'm guess this was the lip of the sleeve which mine is now missing and would explain what's happened now.
  4. Front Control arm dramas

Job done but then a day later I heard a knocking noise. When I removed the lower control arm on the drivers side the steel sleeve insert was pulled out with the arm. So I managed to remove the insert from the old arm and slotted it back into the hub with some thread lock because it was a loose fitting. Now the sleeve is protruding past the hub leaving a gap between the washer and the hub. I've knocked the insert back into the hub flush and tried to tighten the bolt as much as I can but as soon as you put some weight back on the arm it pushes the sleeve back to its protruding position. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do? I'm thinking a will need a good used hub. I'm sick and tired of this turd.

  6. Hi does anyone have a set of front caliper carriers off a facelift E39 with 324mm discs? Just found out my 530d has pre-facelift 540i carriers. Thanks

Tie rods are being left alone, there fine. I managed to split the ball joint using a brand new pickle fork which a had to cut the fork short so it didn't hit the back of the hub. Unfortunately the sleeve is on the lower control arm which I need to remove when its supposed to be in the hub. I'm going to have to buy a puller to remove it.
  8. Front Control arm dramas

It already had Meyle shocks last year. I have the whole Meyle front control arm kit here including Upper and Lower arms, new nuts and bolts and ARB links/ Fingers cross it all goes to plan.
  9. Front Control arm dramas

The socket I think is some generic one. I'm going to try and get a halfords advanced one tomorrow and the ball joint tool is a Laser 2708 that was £33. I'm not sure if its good idea to smack the casting because its alloy. I've got a heat gun and I will have ago tomorrow. Thanks for the advice.
  10. Japanese Import E39s

Its not required. I would leave it alone. Its not hard to adjust to reading kilometers. I've got a Japanese R129 which still has KM clocks and mileage that been in this country for 5 years.
  11. Front Control arm dramas

The lower control arm nut and bolt to the subframe is seized. I have broken two 16MM sockets. Is there any tips for this? And also the ball join on the upper control arm broke my ball joint seperator. Any tips on the right pickle fork to use instead?
  12. Japanese Import E39s

I bet they feel like a nearly new E39. I would be taking all the arch liners off cleaning everywhere and spraying cavity wax including all the brake and fuel pipes so it stays unrusty.
  13. EGR Thermostat

    Ok Thank You
  14. 525d oil

If its not using oil then 5w30 is fine. Halfords is doing LL04 for £15 http://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-fluids/engine-oil/halfords-5w30-fs-oil-bmw-mb-4l-bf-limited-edition?_$ja=kw:drytinder|tsid:40392&cm_mmc=Affiliates-_-PerformanceHorizon-_-drytinder-_-TopLink
